Abstract: An image capturing apparatus includes: an image capturing processing unit capable of selectively performing a normal image capturing process in a normal image capturing mode and a combined image capturing process in a combined image capturing mode, the normal image capturing process being a process of obtaining a single exposure image signal in a unit period and generating captured image data by performing signal processing upon the obtained signal, and the combined image capturing process being a process of obtaining a long-exposure image signal and a short-exposure image signal and generating captured image data by performing signal processing including signal combination upon these obtained signals; a detection unit for performing light metering upon the captured image data; and a control unit for controlling switching between light metering methods used in the detection unit in accordance with an image capturing mode used.

Abstract: A fire detecting/extinguishing apparatus according to the present invention is comprised of a fire detecting unit which monitors to detect a fire within a monitoring area, the fire detecting unit stepwise scanning in a vertical direction while scanning the fire monitoring area in the vertical direction at each step of the horizontal scanning; a water discharging unit having a water discharging nozzle for discharging water to the monitoring area, the water discharging unit being rotatable in the horizontal direction, the water discharging unit being directed toward a position of the fire based on the fire detection by the fire detecting unit; a swinging unit which swings the water discharging unit in the horizontal direction; and a casing in which the fire detecting unit and the water discharging unit are housed as a single unit. Further, the apparatus of the present invention includes a cover fixed to a side of the water discharging nozzle which is opposite to the side of the water discharging nozzle.

Abstract: A scan type fire detecting apparatus is provided with a scanning unit which stepwise scans a monitoring area in a horizontal direction and vertically scans at each step of the horizontal scan to output a detecting signal obtained during the vertical and horizontal scan while a fire judging section judges an occurrence of a fire based on the detecting signal from the scanning unit. The fire judging section includes a first fire judging section which judges as to whether or not the detecting signal outputted from the scanning unit during the vertical and horizontal scanning is higher than a predetermined threshold value, and stops the horizontal scan of the scanning unit when the detecting signal is higher than the predetermined threshold value.
