  • Patent number: 6099761
Abstract: A solar-cell watch dial to be disposed on or above a solar cell housed in a watch, the solar-cell watch dial including an alumina of the formula Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 whose purity is at least 99.90% and exhibiting a light transmission ranging from 40 to 60%. The invention also includes a process for producing a solar-cell watch dial, which includes the steps of: mixing together an alumina of the formula Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 whose purity is at least 99.90%, an organic binder and water to thereby obtain an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mixture (A); drying and granulating the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mixture to thereby obtain a granular material (B); molding the granular material into a plate dial precursor (C); firing the dial precursor at 700 to 1500.degree. C. in atmospheric environment to thereby obtain a preliminary firing product (D); and firing the preliminary firing product at 1500 to 1800.degree. C. under a pressure of 1.times.10.sup.-2 to 1.times.10.sup.-5 torr for 1 to 10 hr to thereby obtain a solar-cell watch dial (E).

  • Patent number: 5912064
Abstract: The dial plate according to the present invention comprises a substrate formed of a ceramic material and a colored coating layer formed on the substrate. And, the colored coating layer is characterized by having a colored layer formed of a ceramic paint containing a metal compound as a principal component. The substrate formed of a ceramic material is porous; and hence, diffuses incident light to conceal a solar battery placed on the backside from view. Since the colored layer is formed of a ceramic paint containing a metal compound as a principal component, it is easy to firmly attach it to the substrate formed of a ceramic material and it is capable of forming various colors corresponding to the types of metal compounds applied.

  • Patent number: 5761158
Abstract: A covering member (4), a solar battery (3) and a hand-operating mechanism-containing movement (2) are housed inside a case (1) which has a front side opening (1a), a glass (5) which is provided in the front side opening (1a), in the order of these constituents from the face side of the case (1). The solar battery (3) is disposed opposite to the glass (5) at a light receiving surface thereof which is covered with the covering member (4). The covering member (4) can also serve as a dial. If the covering member (4) is molded out of ceramic, it can provide the dial with a white appearance, so that light can sufficiently be transmitted to the receiving surface of the solar battery (3) owing to the light transmittance of the ceramic.

  • Patent number: 5562414
Abstract: A noise deduction for a rotorcraft includes a unit to produce compressed air, a drive shaft provided with a first air supply passage in which the compressed air from the air-producing unit flows, and rotor blades provided with second air supply passages in which the air from the first air supply passage flows. In order to eject the compressed air supplied from the rotor blades, ejection nozzles having an ejection adjusting mechanism therein are arranged at respective blade tips of the rotor blades and respective trailing edges thereof in the rotational direction. In operation, the ejection nozzles eject the compressed air to the radial direction of the rotor blades, so that, since the blade tip vortex in the vicinity of the blade tip of the preceding rotor blade is relocated outside the blade tip of the following rotor blade, a direct collision thereof on the vortex can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 4901528
Abstract: In an automotive vehicle installed with a V-6 engine, engine revolution speed and engine load are detected and a selector valve provided in a silencer is normally closed but it is opened when the engine revolution speed exceeds a predetermined engine revolution speed value when the 3rd order component of exhaust sound coincides with a longitudinal resonance frequency within a vehicle cabin when the vehicle is at acceleration. The selector valve which is normally closed is opened when the engine revolution speed exceeds a second predetermined engine revolution speed value when the 1.5th order component of the exhaust sound coincides with the longitudinal resonance frequency.

  • Patent number: 4092575
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically controlling the operation of a reciprocable door between its closed and opened positions. A position sensing means is provided for sensing the position of the door during its opening and closing strokes to decelerate the speed of the door at a final portion of the door stroke, thereby preventing the door from striking an outer door frame.

  • Patent number: 4050191
Abstract: A drive assembly, driven assembly and track assembly are provided separately for ready installation on a doorframe to support and drive a pair of overhung doors. The drive assembly comprises a pulley and its drive mechanism which are mounted on a common bracket to be fastened to one of the jambs of the doorframe, whereas the driven assembly includes an idler pulley mounted on another bracket to be fastened to the other jamb. The track assembly comprises a rail bolted at both ends to the two brackets, and two pairs of door hangers in rolling engagement with the rail for suspending the respective doors therefrom. The door hangers are attached to an endless wire rope extending around the pulleys.

  • Patent number: 4023236
Abstract: For suspending a sliding door from a pair of parallel spaced overhead tracks, there is provided a dual-roller support comprising first and second separate sections each comprising a roller and its mount. Only the first section is directly affixed to the top edge of the door. Thus, for installation of the door, the roller of the first section is first manipulated into rolling engagement with one of the overhead tracks thereby temporarily suspending the door therefrom. The second section is then bolted to the first section, with the roller of the second section in rolling engagement with the other overhead track.
