Patent number: 6356525Abstract: A skew adjusting apparatus for an optical disc player makes a positional adjustment of a guide member of a carriage for a pickup relative to a chassis. A movable body is disposed on the chassis. The movable body has at one end thereof a supporting member for the guide member and the other end thereof a connection member to the chassis. An adjusting device for making a positional adjustment of the guide member through the supporting member in the thickness direction of the chassis is disposed between the chassis and the movable body so as to be displaced from the guide member and the supporting member on a reference plane of the chassis.Type: GrantFiled: November 22, 1999Date of Patent: March 12, 2002Assignee: Pioneer CorporationInventors: Yuji Ikedo, Yusuke Akama, Akira Bessho, Katsuhiko Tanimoto

Patent number: 6295701Abstract: The inclination of the sliding contact surface of the securing hook that can be slidingly contacted with part of a member to be secured is so set as to become steeper gradually in the mounting direction of the member to be secured, thereby being able to prevent an increase in the pressure angle of the sliding contact surface.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1999Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Pioneer CorporationInventor: Akira Bessho

Patent number: 6285649Abstract: A disc player includes an optical pickup for producing a laser beam onto an optical disc which is being rotated by virtue of a spindle motor. Two guide shafts are disposed on opposite sides of the optical pickup for guiding the movement of said optical pickup. An adjusting system adjusts the position of each guide shaft. The spindle motor is fixed on a motor base plate which forms part of the adjusting system.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 1999Date of Patent: September 4, 2001Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventors: Akira Bessho, Tomonari Ishikawa

Patent number: 5796702Abstract: An optical pickup system is provided for two kinds of discs which are different in thickness. A rack is provided to be moved in the radial direction of the disc beyond a reproducing stroke area of a pickup to over-stroke areas at opposite sides of the reproducing stroke area. Two optical elements are provided to be moved together with the rack for changing the condensed positions of laser beam for performing reproduction of the discs. The pickup and the rack are detachably engaged in the reproducing area and in the over-stroke areas, respectively. The rack is moved to the opposite over-stroke areas by a motor. A pair of stoppers are provided for stopping the pickup at opposite ends of the reproducing stroke area so that relative positions of the pickup to the rack are changed in the over-stroke area, respectively. The optical elements are arranged to effect the reproduction of a corresponding kind of disc based on the change of the relative position of the pickup.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1997Date of Patent: August 18, 1998Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventor: Akira Bessho

Patent number: 5091898Abstract: A playback/recording apparatus for a cartridge-contained disk includes a casing having a slot, a cartridge holder having an opening aligned with the slot, a conveyance mechanism for moving the cartridge holder and cartridge therein between a fully inserted position of the cartridge and a playback/recording position, and a playback/recording mechanism for recording on or reproducing from the disk. The apparatus has resilient members, mounted on the holder, for engaging with the cartridge after insertion. The resilient members are capable of being reciprocated in the directions of insertion and discharge of the cartridge. Stoppers limit the ranges of the reciprocation of the resilient members. During insertion of the cartridge, the resilient members engage with the cartridge and come into contact with recesses in the cartridge. An urging mechanism urges the cartridge toward the outside of a slot.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1988Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventors: Akira Bessho, Youichi Konno

Patent number: 5029157Abstract: A disk player in which a fixing device fixedly secures a movable member having a pickup disposed thereon such that the movable member will not be accidentally damaged when the disk player is moved. The fixing device comprises: a first rack disposed on the holding member and extending in the direction of movement of the holding member; a second rack extending parallel to the first rack and having a tooth bearing face confronting a tooth bearing face of the first rack; and two leaf springs cantilevered to the supporting mechanism with the free end portions holding the second rack.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1988Date of Patent: July 2, 1991Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventor: Akira Bessho

Patent number: 4989197Abstract: An apparatus for playing a disc rotatably stored in a flat protective cartridge has guide pins slidably fitted in guide holes for guiding a holding member that holds the cartridge loaded in a housing toward a turntable. The cartridge can be transferred from a loading/unloading slot toward the turntable with high accuracy. With the arrangement in which the holding member is guided by the guide pins and the guide holes, the apparatus is small in size and the holding member is moved smoothly with a high accuracy thereby to perform smooth loading the cartridge-stored disc while keeping accurate alignment of the disc against the spindle of the turn-table.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1988Date of Patent: January 29, 1991Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventors: Akira Bessho, Youichi Konno

Patent number: 4932019Abstract: A disk player having a means to dissipate the resonance energy that may adversely affect the disk player. The disk player comprises a holding member holding an objective lens and a servo drive mechanism for driving the objective lens, each of which are movably supported by a pair of guide members. At least one weight is bonded through a vibration absorbing member to the holding member, so that the internal loss of the vibration absorbing member dissipates the energy which otherwise may cause resonance of the holding member.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Pioneer Electronic CorporationInventor: Akira Bessho
