  • Publication number: 20040110533
Abstract: An IC card transmits data received from a card reading and writing apparatus to a portable terminal via an external interface without changing the received data, or after the received data is converted according to an appropriate conversion scheme or is converted into other packet data. Conversely, the IC card transmits data received from the portable terminal via the external interface to the card reading and writing apparatus via a non-contact interface without changing the received data, or after the received data is converted according to an appropriate conversion scheme or is converted into other packet data. Therefore, non-contact data communication can be performed between the information processing terminal connected to the IC card and the card reading and writing apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20040050932
Abstract: Amount information stored in an IC chip installed in a portable terminal has been encoded, and no key is contained in the same terminal for protection against unauthorized use. On the other hand, in order to allow the information to be viewed even offline, a portion of the information can be displayed by a specific application. After a viewer application is downloaded from a service provider, followed by mutual authentication with the IC chip, the application is enabled on the terminal, and the extent viewed is registered. Therefore, the amount information stored in the IC card or IC chip can be displayed even in an offline environment.

  • Publication number: 20040054710
Abstract: An application program relating to a process of an IC 21 is stored in a virtual IC storage area server apparatus 13. Following a mutual authentication between the IC 21 and the virtual IC storage area server apparatus 13 through a portable communication function unit 20, the server apparatus 13 executes the application program and through the IC 21, the portable communication function unit 20, a wireless communication line 17, and a network 18, communicates with an IC_R/W apparatus 11 and performs a process relating to a service in collaboration with each other.

  • Publication number: 20030174839
Abstract: A memory region on an IC card has a hierarchical structure. Each application allocated on the memory region is registered in a directory, and the memory region is managed in directory units. A personal identification code is set for each application and directory, and the access right is controlled in application units or directory units. If a mobile terminal is lost, the right to access each application in the IC card automatically disappears. Therefore, the right to access each application allocated to the memory region on the IC card is efficiently controlled.

  • Publication number: 20020093574
Abstract: A digital camera (1) comprises an operational guide element (93) for providing a guide about an operational procedure while displaying a menu on a monitor (21). A user makes a predetermined operation in accordance with the operational guide element (93), and data is copied to a RAM (113) from a memory card (40A). In accordance with an instruction for changing card made by the operational guide element (93), the user removes the memory card (40A) and inserts a memory card (40B) into the same card slot (41), and thereafter makes a predetermined operation in accordance with the operational guide element (93), whereby the data temporarily recorded in the RAM (113) is transferred to the memory card (40B).
