  • Publication number: 20020170515
Abstract: The present invention prevents abnormal wear of the. friction surfaces surrounding the rocker arm, prevents poor lubrication when the engine is started at low temperature after a long period of shutdown, and improves reliability. A bag-shaped oil sump (24) opening upward is provided in the middle part of the rocker arm main body (17). A roller (15) and a roller pin (16) are provided inside the oil sump (24) and when the engine stops, these are immersed in the oil in the oil sump (24). When the engine stops, the area between the roller (15) and the roller pin (16) is lubricated. Further, when the engine is re-started after a long period of shutdown, until the oil has risen, the area between the roller (15) and the cam (8) can be lubricated using the oil adhering to the roller (15). When the rocker arm (6) oscillates downward, the oil in the oil sump (24) is supplied from the oil exhaust (28) by spraying towards the valve shaft end.

  • Patent number: 6405689
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to realize both good cooling balance between two banks (2, 3) and good oil cooling performance, and further reduce temperature difference between the banks. A cooling system for a V-type engine according to the present invention causes the cooling water supplied from a water pump (10) to be distributed to the banks (2, 3) of the engine (1) after an oil cooler (15). The cooling water prior to cooling the engine can cool the oil sufficiently, and the cooling water after passing the oil cooler (15) is distributed to the banks (2, 3) equally so that no temperature difference arises between the banks. A connection tube (18) for communicating water jackets of the banks (2, 3) is integrally formed with a housing member (20) mounted on an end of the engine in a crankshaft direction. Since an existing flywheel housing (20) or the like is utilized, a separate pipe is not necessary, and therefore easy layout and size reduction are realized.

  • Patent number: 6252409
Abstract: A unique system has been provided to precisely locate the exact position of a short along a conductor, even if the conductor is co-located with other conductors, even conductors connected to low resistance loads. A combination of low frequency test pulse signals, at low duty cycles, and the use of a directional sensor made with shields, account for accuracy and reliability of the system. The shields are arranged to optimally shield and direct signals at the transmitter test signal frequency. The shields also acts to place the shorted wire an optimal distance from the sensor. A method of short circuit location, using the direction sensor of the above-mentioned detection system, is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5969313
Abstract: An inhibitor switch having a construction that facilitates fabrication by disposing a bearing surface made of a metal plate so as to be exposed at a bottom surface of a shaft hole to which a shaft of a movable plate is pivotably fitted, and having fixed contact plates formed in a pole plate by insertion molding. The movable plate has movable contacts, which are brought into contact with the fixed contact plates. A movable arm is secured to the movable plate. A case supports pivotably the movable plate together with the pole plate. The bearing surface made of a metal plate is disposed so as to be exposed at the bottom surface of the shaft hole to which the shaft of the movable plate is pivotably fitted. The bearing surface can be integral with one of the fixed contact plates.

  • Patent number: 5855445
Abstract: A bonding construction for bonding a rotary shaft made of a resin material to a lever made of a resin material. The lever is formed with a fitting hole therein into which the rotary shaft is fitted. The rotary shaft has projections formed on its outer surface. The inner surface of the fitting hole of the lever is formed with grooves into which the projections of the rotary shaft are fitted. The rotary shaft and the lever are melted together at their interface between the projections and the grooves by ultrasonic welding.

  • Patent number: 5621600
Abstract: A portable apparatus to test an automobile wiring harness for the location of a short in one of the wires. A transmitter is used to apply a low frequency, low duty cycle, pulsed signal to the wire under test. A receiver, with an inductive sensor, detects magnetic fields generated by the pulsed signal current flow between the transmitter and the short. The receiver generates a humanly discernable signal in response to the detected magnetic field. The operator finds the short by following the detected magnetic field of the signal pulse through the wire under test. By noting the location of a dramatic discontinuity in magnetic field strength, the operator can gauge the location of the short in the wire. The low voltage amplitude, low duty cycle, pulse signal allows the transmitter to be operated with a small battery. The low power signals also provide safety to circuits connected to the wire. The low frequency and power of the pulsed signal minimizes coupling between wires.

  • Patent number: 5333369
Abstract: A method for positioning both dies set to both movable and stationary platens of a plastic molding machine to form a cavity by fitting convex and concave portions formed on the facing surfaces of the dies into a spigot respectively, wherein a movable die is set to the movable platen at the retreat position to secure the movable die to the home position and a stationary die is temporarily clamped at the home position of the stationary platen by pressing the stationary die in the lateral direction by a repulsive member, the movable die is advanced against the stationary die under the above state, die matching of the stationary and movable dies is performed by fitting the convex portion to the concave portion, and thereby positioning of the stationary die is performed by correcting the position of the die before permanently clamping the stationary die to the stationary platen under the state in which the both dies are fastened by the movable platen.

  • Patent number: 4637555
Abstract: A circulation type homogenizing apparatus for treating raw material liquids, which utilizes a main cylindrical barrel with a subsidiary barrel centrally located therein and a pair of mating grinding disks arranged to provide a homogenizing action for the liquid passed therethrough. The raw feed liquid containing fine particulate solids is introduced into the main barrel and centrifugally forced from the lower stationary portion of an inner subsidiary barrel by rotary tandem blade tubes into the gap between the mating grinding disks. Both grinding disks have teeth and grooves on the grinding surfaces, and the upper disk is rotated relative to the stationary lower disk by a driving motor mounted above the main barrel. From the grinding disks a portion of the homogenized liquid is recirculated back through the subsidiary barrel and grinding disks gap for further treatment, while the remainder of the homogenized material is withdrawn from around the upper end of the main barrel.
