  • Publication number: 20060279790
Abstract: The present invention provides an image processing apparatus including a first recognition component, a second recognition component and a conversion component. The first recognition component recognizes input side unevenness information representing unevenness of an image depending on an image inputting apparatus to which an image inputted and image data representing an image inputted to the image inputting apparatus. The second recognition component recognizes output side unevenness information representing unevenness of an image depending on an image outputting apparatus outputting based on the image data. The conversion component, based on the input side unevenness information recognized by the first recognition component and the output side unevenness information recognized by the second recognition component, corrects unevenness of images on both sides and converts the image data to a format processable by the image outputting apparatus at an output destination.

  • Publication number: 20060256457
Abstract: In a variable-shape mirror of which the shape of the mirror surface can be varied, a mirror portion is bonded only to a fixed portion and not to a piezoelectric element. When the piezoelectric element is not operating, the mirror portion, receiving a predetermined force from the piezoelectric element, makes contact with the piezoelectric element. When the piezoelectric element contracts, the mirror portion tends to restore its original shape by its counterforce. Thus, even when the piezoelectric element contracts, the contact between the mirror portion and the piezoelectric element is held, and hence the electric conduction to the piezoelectric element is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20060256385
Abstract: An image processing method generates a halftone image by forming a halftone dot represented by a set of one or plural output dots corresponding to an intensity of an input image signal while making a part of the dots constituting the halftone dot to be an actual non-output dot so as to reduce an amount of a coloring material of a halftone-dot portion. The image processing method includes holding in a predetermined storage medium halftone-dot profile data for forming the halftone dot corresponding to the intensity of the image signal and gap-size profile data representing a size of a set of the non-output dot; and generating the halftone dot comprising a gap having a size based on the gap-size profile data, a size of the halftone dot being based on the halftone-dot profile data.

  • Publication number: 20060256456
Abstract: In a variable-shape mirror (1) of which the shape of the mirror surface can be varied, four piezoelectric elements (4) are sandwiched between a support base (2) and a mirror portion (3), and are arranged symmetrically in cross-shaped directions. The piezoelectric elements (4) are bonded to the mirror portion (3), and serve both to vary the shape of the mirror portion (3) by being driven and to fix the mirror portion (3) to the support base (2). Support portions (5) are arranged one inside each of the piezoelectric elements (4). With this structure, a small movement that the piezoelectric elements (4) produce when driven can be converted into a large movement of the mirror portion (3).

  • Publication number: 20060241162
Abstract: (R)-(+)-5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin is an optically active substance having an excellent suppressive action of the progression of renal failure. At an administration to a model animal of renal failure, (R)-(+)-5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin significantly suppresses an increase of creatinine in blood as compared with the S-form and the racemate, and shows an excellent suppressive action to the progression of renal failure by improving creatinine clearance. Thus, (R)-(+)-5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin is useful as a highly-active agent for renal failure.

  • Publication number: 20060241163
Abstract: (S)-(?)-5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin is useful as a drug having high safety. Since the compound of the present invention, (S)-(?)-5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin, rarely changes to the metabolite having high toxicity compared with the R-form and the racemate, it is preferred as an agent for renal failure especially when used for chronic renal insufficiency in a patient where toxic substances are not excreted, but are accumulated in the body due to disturbance of renal functions.

  • Publication number: 20060083955
Abstract: When the mobile type information terminal is transferred between an operating state and a standby state, self diagnosis is performed. The fuel cell charges the secondary cells with a normal current of fixed value I1, and when the output voltage of the boost DC/DC converter (when PG=L), the charge current is reduced to the fixed value and aging is performed. After aging is performed for 60 seconds, charging is performed once again performed at the normal fixed value I1. This type of operation is repeated 30 times. During aging, when the output voltage from the boost DC/DC converter is reduced (when PG=L), aging is stopped and after 20 seconds aging is performed again, and this operation is done 10 times. The mobile type information terminal can perform self diagnosis and retrial of regeneration without the user being aware, in which secondary batteries and a fuel cell are loaded.

  • Patent number: 6972783
Abstract: A plurality of beams scan the photosensitive body or the like so that a high quality image whose streak is not recognized by a human eye can be formed. 2m lines are formed simultaneously in Nth time, (N+1)-th time, and (N+2)-th time scannings respectively. At this point, the m lines are fed in a sub-scanning direction at each termination of one-time scanning, and the next scanning is performed. Accordingly, a region which is exposed twice between the scannings is generated at an m-line period.

  • Patent number: 6950218
Abstract: The present invention has an object to provide a Mach-Zehnder optical modulator with the excellent productivity and reliability, which can obtain a favorable optical response characteristic even if a high frequency electric signal is applied to a signal electrode. To this end, the present optical modulator is configured such that, in a Mach-Zehnder optical modulator in which an optical waveguide and a coplanar electrode are formed on a surface of a substrate having an electro-optic effect, floating electrodes formed using a conducting material, are provided on side faces along parallel waveguides, among side faces substantially perpendicular to the surface of the substrate. Thus, even when a high frequency electric signal is applied to the signal electrode, a phenomenon is suppressed in which a particular frequency resonates within the substrate, and an occurrence of dip in a particular frequency is avoided.

  • Publication number: 20050143437
Abstract: Conventional I-form crystals of 5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin contain, remaining therein in a considerable amount, the organic solvent used in a purification step. In contrast, in II-form crystals, the amount of the organic solvent remaining therein is smaller than the detection limit. Namely, the II-form crystals contain substantially no residual organic solvent. The novel II-form crystals of 5-hydroxy-1-methylhydantoin obtained through recrystallization from water not only contain substantially no residual organic solvent, but also have a high bulk density and are hence advantageous for pharmaceutical preparation. They further have properties advantageous for production, such as low adhesion. The crystals are significantly useful as a material for medicines required to have high safety, such as drugs for renal insufficiency.
