    Abstract: A method of device-to-device communication by a wireless device in a wireless communication network may include transmitting a first packet that includes first message data to multiple neighboring wireless devices in the wireless communication network. The method may also include receiving a second packet from one of the multiple neighboring wireless devices. The second packet may be generated by a second wireless device in the wireless communication network that is not one of the multiple neighboring wireless devices. The second packet may include second message data generated by the second wireless device and the first message data. In response to receiving the second packet, the method may further include transmitting a third packet configured to be unicast to the second wireless device. The third packet may include third message data generated by the wireless device.

The sound sensor is provided at a predetermined position relative to at least one of the water nozzle and the light collector, and receives a sound coming from the surface to be treated. The timer detects a detected time width from a reference time point to a time point when the sound sensor receives the sound. The distance calculator calculates a distance from one of the water nozzle and the light collector to the surface to be processed.

    Abstract: A field effect transistor (FET) configuration is provided having a gate region with a split work function for the source-side and drain-side of the gate region. The work function of a material is defined as the minimum energy required to extract an electron from the surface of the material to free space. Accordingly, the source-side portion of the gate region has a first work function that less than a second work function of the drain-side portion, the result of which is increased breakdown voltage at the drain-gate interface, without significantly increasing the threshold voltage of the FET. The split work function is achieved by layering n-type gate material over p-type gate material in the drain-side portion of the gate region, while only the n-type gate material us used in the source-side portion of the gate region.
