  • Patent number: 6670030
Abstract: A biaxially oriented laminate polyester film for magnetic recording medium, which is a laminate film comprising a base layer (A) formed of a polyester resin and a coating layer (B) which exists on one surface of the base layer (A) and contains a binder resin, added fine particles and a surfactant, wherein the base layer (A) is a biaxially oriented film which substantially contains no fine particles added or contains 0.001 to 0.1% by weight of added fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.005 to 0.3 &mgr;m, the coating layer (B) has a surface having a central plane roughness (SRa) of 5 nm or less, the surface of the coating layer (B) has protrusions having a major diameter of 0.05 &mgr;m or more in a density of 80,000 pieces/mm2 or less and has extra-large protrusions having a major diameter of 10 &mgr;m or more in a density of 20 pieces/cm2 or less.

  • Patent number: 6441063
Abstract: A thermoplastic resin composition containing inorganic particles, wherein (i) the inorganic particles have pore volume of 0.1 to 3 ml/g and (ii) the inorganic particles are treated at the surfaces with a hydrophilic polyester of 0.05 to 10 times the weight of the inorganic particles or with a silicon-containing organic compound. This composition can be obtained by feeding a dispersion of the above-mentioned surface-treated inorganic particles into a vented double-screw kneader and extruder to mix it with a thermoplastic resin.

  • Patent number: 6432509
Abstract: A composite film for a film condenser, which comprises a biaxially oriented film made of polyethylene-2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate as a main polymer component and an electrically conductive metal thin layer formed on the surface of the biaxially oriented film, wherein the number of flyspecks having an average diameter of 60 &mgr;m or greater in the surface of said biaxially oriented film is 20/m2 or less and the number of portions failing to satisfy a dielectric breakdown voltage of 200 V/&mgr;m (electrical insulation defects) in said composite film is 20/m2 or less, and a biaxially oriented film therefor. According to the present invention, there is provided a high-quality composite film for a film condenser, which has excellent physical properties and electric characteristics. Further, there is provided a very thin biaxially oriented film excellent in processability and surface properties and usable for the composite film.
