  • Patent number: 4457995
Abstract: A liquid developer for electrostatic photography and a method of using it is disclosed. The developer is comprised of toner particles dispersed in a higher electrically insulating carrier fluid and at least one kind of aliphatic alcohol having 10 or more carbon atoms in an amount of 0.1 to 40 parts by weight per one part by weight of the toner particles. Even after repeated use the developer provides images having high quality and the sensitivity of the developer does not substantially change. The developer is preferably used in the production of electrophotographic offset printing plates.

  • Patent number: 4297436
Abstract: A method for producing a multilayer printing plate comprising image-wise exposing and developing a light-sensitive printing plate material which comprises a support having an oleophilic surface having a hydrophilic metal layer thereon, the hydrophilic metal layer having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer either directly or on at least one subbing layer on the hydrophilic metal layer, to form a silver image resist image corresponding to the image-wise exposure by subjecting the printing plate material to a process including baking, removing the hydrophilic metal layer at non-resist image areas to uncover the oleophilic surface thereunder, and removing the resist image, or a method for producing a multilayer printing plate comprising image-wise exposing and developing a light-sensitive printing plate material which comprises a support having a hydrophilic surface having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer either directly or on at least one subbing layer on the hydrophilic surface to

  • Patent number: 4173477
Abstract: A silver halide photographic material comprising an aluminum support having thereon an anodized aluminum oxide layer and a light sensitive silver halide layer containing a silver halide developing agent thereon with a subbing layer containing at least either a silver halide or a developing agent suitable for a silver halide in an amount less than the quantity contained in the light-sensitive layer, which can be used to produce a relief image possessing high printing durability by successively receiving an image-wise exposure, an alkaline solution development, a washing-off and a drying.

  • Patent number: 4157262
Abstract: A process for intensifying a silver image formed photographically to obtain a non-silver metal image of high optical density comprising treatment with a non-silver physical developer solution containing (1) at least one of an amine borane compound and a borohydride compound, (2) at least one of an amine compound and an ammonium compound, and (3) a compound of a non-silver metal, within a specified temperature range and the non-silver physical developer solution used therein.

  • Patent number: 4115118
Abstract: A process for producing a printing plate comprising imagewise exposing a light-sensitive material comprising a support with a hydrophilic surface and having thereon an unhardened silver halide emulsion layer, developing the imagewise exposed light-sensitive material with a non-tanning developer, fogging the remaining silver halide, developing the fogged remaining silver halide with a tanning developer to thereby simultaneously harden the emulsion layer at the areas developed, and removing the unhardened emulsion layer, whereby an oleophilic tanning relief image is formed.
