  • Patent number: 6764129
Abstract: A plastic sun roof panel has a central portion formed in a maximum and uniform thickness. Further, a mounting portion having a minimum and uniform thickness is formed annularly along a peripheral edge portion. Between the central portion and the peripheral edge portion, there is annularly formed a tapered portion whose thickness is gradually reduced from the central portion toward the mounting portion. A reinforcing member is arranged so as to extend along the peripheral edge portion of the sun roof panel, and is fastened to the plastic sun roof panel by means of an adhesive. A flange of the reinforcing member is fitted into a weather strip. In the peripheral edge portion, the tapered portion is situated on the inner side of the mounting portion to which the adhesive is applied.

  • Patent number: 6405499
Abstract: A panel is attached to a panel frame such that the panel is movable relative to the panel frame. A weather strip is attached to the frame to seal the periphery of the panel. A gap is defined between the end of the panel and an adjacent inner wall of the weather strip. Cohesive elastic material is located in the gap. The panel end face is inclined by an acute angle relative to the upper surface of the panel such that the gap widens in the downward direction. When compressed and deformed between the end of the panel and the inner wall of the weather strip, the elastic material is pressed downward, which prevents the elastic material from bulging upward and spoiling the appearance of the weather strip.

  • Patent number: 6293619
Abstract: A sliding roof capable of opening/closing an opening window formed in a roof body, including a frame having a raised portion around the outer circumference thereof, a panel attached to the frame, and a weather strip fitted between the raised portion and the panel. The raised portion is provided with a projection with an edge directed to a proximal end side of the raised portion for preventing the weather strip from being pulled apart. The projection is formed by shearing work of the raised portion.

  • Patent number: 5796054
Abstract: A loudspeaker diaphragm is provided as an injection molded material including 50 to 80 weight % of a matrix resin of polyolefins and 20 to 50 weight % of flaky mica having an average aspect ratio of more than 10 and including at least 3 weight % or more of pearl mica. The matrix resin of polyolefins includes respective flakes of the flaky mica orientated in parallel to thereby improve the acoustic characteristics and concurrently the design appearance of the diaphragm. The design appearance of the diaphragm can have bright colors and a pearly luster.

  • Patent number: 3969433
Abstract: A stabilized light reflecting iridescent polymeric material is provided. The new material comprises a three dimensional non-contiguous regular structure of uniform polymeric microspheres, wherein the center to center distance between the microspheres is in the range from about 1.500 to about 15,000A. The microspheres are obtained from a cross-linked polymeric latex and have a particle diameter size in the range from about 500 to about 10,000A. The polymeric structure is stabilized by polymerizing the suspending medium. The polymerized suspending medium containing the latex particles has a refractive index relationship expressed by the formula ##EQU1## wherein n.sub.1 is the average refractive index of the polymerized suspending medium, n.sub.2 is the average refractive index of the latex particles, and .alpha. is the degree of swelling of the latex particles in the suspending medium to provide optical discontinuity.
