Patent number: 6957032Abstract: A recording medium carrier system of an image forming apparatus is constituted by independent units as a paper supply cassette, a paper feed unit, a transfer unit, a fixing unit, and a paper ejecting unit. An intermediate transfer unit in the transfer unit is provided with an intermediate transfer belt to which a toner image formed on a photoconductive drum is primarily transferred at a primary transfer position and which secondarily transfers the toner image on a recording medium at a secondary transfer position, and a driving roller for circulating the intermediate transfer belt. The primary transfer position is arranged close to the driving roller.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2002Date of Patent: October 18, 2005Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Toshiya Takahata, Akira Kubota, Tatsuro Osawa, Nobumasa Abe, Takehiko Okamura, Hiroshi Ito, Tahei Ishiwatari, Toshihiko Yamazaki

Publication number: 20050178488Abstract: A tire component is fabricated by the steps of forming a narrow belt by arranging a plurality of cords and embedding the cords in a rubber layer, cutting the belt into strips of a predetermined length, and successively arranging and joining a necessary number of the strips such that edge parts of adjacent strips overlap each other with the outermost cord in the edge part of one of the adjacent strips overlying the outermost cord in the edge part of the other strip. The strips can be surely joined without requiring advanced techniques, without wasting materials and without increasing weight. Thus a desired annular tire component can be accurately formed in a desired circumference. The cords are arranged in each strip in a width equal to a length shorter than a length equal to an integral division of the predetermined circumference of a tire by a length corresponding to an increase in the diameter of the tire component.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 26, 2003Publication date: August 18, 2005Applicant: BRIDGESTONE CORPORATIONInventors: Nobuyuki Suda, Akira Kubota

Patent number: 6862006Abstract: An image processing apparatus and an image processing method are provided which are capable of changing display from a virtual space image to a real space image or vice versa, or combining them based on the movement speed of the user's point of gaze while the user is moving in a virtual space. An image processing program and a medium recording the same are also provided. In the image processing apparatus, when the movement of a head mounted display (HMD) in the virtual space is detected (Step S111), the movement speed is calculated (Step S112) and it is determined whether the movement speed is equal to or greater than akm/h. When the movement speed is slower than akm/h, an updated virtual space image reflecting the movement of the HMD is created for display (Steps S114 and S118). When the movement speed is equal to or greater than akm/h, the real image then being taken is displayed as it is (Steps S115 and S118).Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 2003Date of Patent: March 1, 2005Assignee: Seiko Epson CorporationInventors: Shigemi Sato, Akira Kubota

Publication number: 20040174337Abstract: A force-feedback supply apparatus and an image correcting method are provided in which sites to which a force-feedback is supplied can be properly displayed in accordance with a virtual reality image by correcting the virtual reality image in consideration of a thickness of a force-feedback supply section. In the force-feedback supply apparatus and an image correcting method, joint angles of a force-feedback supply means when a user's hand and fingers are at a reference posture and at a real grasp position are detected by means of encoders arranged in joint sections, positions of the user's fingertips at each posture are calculated on the basis of the detection data, the joint angles at a virtual grasp position are calculated, quantity of deviation in the joint angles between the real grasp position and the virtual grasp position is calculated, and a conversion rule for correcting the virtual reality image is determined on the basis of the quantity of deviation.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2003Publication date: September 9, 2004Inventors: Akira Kubota, Shigemi Sato

Patent number: 6783889Abstract: The present invention provides a polyester film, which is composed of a polyester resin and a polyimide resin, having superior oligomer-restraining property and dimensional stability. This polyester film also has improved surface conditions, that is, has a reduced number of projections on the surface, and hence, the polyester film shows superior electromagnetic conversion characteristics when used for magnetic recording media. In particular, this polyester film is effectively used for high-density magnetic recording media. This film is composed of a polyester resin and a thermoplastic resin other than a polyester resin, and has a number H1 of coarse projections 0.28 &mgr;m or more in height of 0 to 100/100 cm2 on at least one surface of the polyester film and a number H2 of coarse projections 0.56 &mgr;m or more in height of 0 to 10/100 cm2 on the same surface.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 2001Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Toray Industries, Inc.Inventors: Akira Kubota, Kenichi Eto, Yukari Nakamori, Tetsuya Tsunekawa
