The apparatus (1) includes a hanger (20) that supports the vehicle body (F) in a hanging condition, and moves along a transfer path (25), and vehicle body support parts (32, 32) that adjust supporting positions on the vehicle body (F) in the hanger (20) based upon a center of gravity of the vehicle body (F) of each vehicle type. The hanger (20) includes center-of-gravity management plates (22, 22, 23, 23) having a plurality of vehicle body support parts that support the vehicle body (F) according to the vehicle type of the vehicle body.
