  • Patent number: 7337819
Abstract: In an optical disc fabricating apparatus, when the disc substrate is lowered from the tip of a disc inserting portion at a center pin down to a disc supporting portion, a disc urging portion of an alignment lever is pressed by a disc substrate, to be thus pushed in toward an inner periphery and a sheet urging portion is pushed out toward an outer periphery, so as to press the inner peripheral surface of a cover sheet so that both of the cover sheet and the disc substrate are urged in an alignment direction. Thus, it is possible to eliminate play generated between the inner peripheral surface of the cover sheet and the outer peripheral surface of a sheet inserting portion and play generated between the inner peripheral surface of the disc substrate and the outer peripheral surface of the disc inserting portion.

  • Patent number: 7323124
Abstract: A liquid-form adhesive, which is a raw material of the cover layer, is supplied to a plate surface of the disc substrate, which has been set on a turntable, after which a dummy substrate is set on the disc substrate. The dummy substrate is positioned to be concentric with the disc substrate. A setting surface of the dummy substrate is disposed to face the plate surface. In this state, the disc substrate is rotated together with the dummy substrate by rotation of the turntable, and the adhesive is spread to an outer peripheral side of the disc substrate by centrifugal force. Thus, the adhesive fills a space between the plate surface and the setting surface, and is spin-coated on the plate surface. Irregularities in thickness of the applied adhesive are suppressed by the setting surface of the dummy substrate.

  • Publication number: 20060048374
Abstract: In disk cartridge production, in order to enhance adhesion between a disk-shaped center hub provided with a center hole and a tacky ring formed of ring-shaped double sided adhesive tape material, when the tacky ring adhered on a base film is attached to a lower surface of the center hub before attaching the center hub to a central portion of a disk via the tacky ring, the base film is supported from the rear side by an elastic ring pad. The elastic ring pad has an outer diameter which is smaller than the outer diameter of the center hub but larger than the outer diameter of the tacky ring and an inner diameter which is larger than the inner diameter of the center hole of the center hub but smaller than the inner diameter of the tacky ring.

  • Publication number: 20060050438
Abstract: A disk cartridge holding therein a disk which is centrally attached with a disk-shaped center hub via a tacky ring formed of ring-shaped double sided adhesive tape material is produced by: driving a base film with tacky rings being attached on an upper surface of the base film; feeding the base film such that at least one of the tacky rings is positioned at a hub-attaching position; at the hub-attaching position, temporarily attaching each center hub onto the base film via each tacky ring; and guiding the base film in a direction in which the base film is folded back about an apex of a wedge portion of a guide member provided with the wedge portion, such that the base film is caused to be peeled off from the tacky ring.

  • Publication number: 20050191458
Abstract: A cover sheet package is structured so as to satisfy the relationship AP1?AP2 where AP1 indicates an adhesive force for adhering a peeling sheet to an adhesive film of a cover sheet and AP2 indicates an adhesive force for adhering a protective sheet to a resin film of the cover sheet. This package allows peeling only the peeling sheet adhered to the adhesive film of the cover sheet when a peeling force acts upon one end portion of the peeling sheet, without peeling the protective sheet from the resin film the cover sheet.

  • Publication number: 20050174925
Abstract: A disc substrate is injection-molded with a mold provided with a cavity and an angled surface portion. The cavity forms the disc substrate by an injected molten resin spreading to a circumference of and filling the cavity. The angled surface portion, which is formed at a predetermined region of an area of the cavity that molds an outer periphery portion of a recording surface of the disc substrate, gradually reduces a height dimension of the outer periphery portion from an inner side toward an outer side of the outer periphery portion. Of a disc substrate molded by this mold, an outer periphery portion has a smaller rate of contraction because molten resin charged into the cavity first solidifies quicker, and a center side has a larger rate of contraction because molten resin charged into the cavity later solidifies more slowly than at the outer periphery portion.
