  • Patent number: 5780162
Abstract: An aluminum nitride (AlN) substrate comprising an AIN sinter, an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer provided on the sinter, and a glass-mixed Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer which is provided on the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer and contains Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and glass mixed therewith, preferably with an oxide particle-dispersed glass layer and a main glass layer provided on the glass-mixed Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 layer. The AlN substrate has heat dissipation properties closer to those of AlN itself, does not cause generation of air bubbles at the junction interface between the AlN sinter and the glass-containing layer, and has excellent surface smoothness and corrosion resistance. The very fine conductive layer, etc. may be readily and firmly formed on the substrate in a stable manner.

  • Patent number: 5343278
Abstract: In order to reliably clean a thermal fixing roll for fixing a non-fixed image in an image forming apparatus such as a copier or a laser beam printer, a non-woven fabric web having a crisscross structure or a parallel structure with a thermally bonded fiber sheet is disposed at least on the side in contact with the fixing roll. The thermally bonded fiber sheet comprises composite fibers including 5 to 70% by weight of electroless nickel plated `CONEX` fibers, which is obtained by depositing metallic nickel to a thickness of up to and including 0.2 .mu.m by an electroless plating method on `CONEX` fibers which have the surface formed with stripe-like grooves, macrovoids, fine irregularities or a modified cross-section and is heat-resistant and excellent in adhesion for nickel, in addition to non-plated `CONEX` fibers and undrawn polyester fibers. Preferably, the above non-fabric web is impregnated with a heat-resistant cationic charging agent as a cleaning roll material.

  • Patent number: 4618089
Abstract: An apparatus and method for assembling a structure comprising a framing and shell plates spread thereon. The apparatus has (a) a frame clamping device, which consists of a rectangular base, longitudinal girders arranged in parallel on both sides of the base and frame clamping jigs arranged on the base and longitudinal girders to place and clamp each member of the framing in given relative position, and (b) a structure assembling device, which consists of a stand whose top surface is of the same shape as a given outside surface of a shell plate, and shell tensioning jigs attached to the stand, to extend the roof shell plate placed on the stand while aligning the shell plate to proper position on the stand. The framing and shell plate are assembled by crowning the structure assembly device with the shell plate already set on it with the frame clamping device with the framing already set on it, placing the framing in relative position on the shell plate, and welding the shell plate to the framing.
