  • Publication number: 20080116626
Abstract: When a sheet reaches a sheet separator, an operation mechanism rocks a pick arm, thereby separating a paper feed roller from the sheet. At that time, a roller presses another roller and a separation pad holder through a separation roller and a sheet which is separated by the separation pad, and a pressure welding pressure between the separation roller and the separation pad is reduced. With this, the separation roller and the separation pad can be separated from each other with a small and simple mechanism, and a back tension when a sheet is fed can be reduced inexpensively.

  • Publication number: 20070145672
Abstract: An over-stack protective portion is provided on a stopper member. When a sheet feeding device is in a standby position, the over-stack protective portion is held in a position in which the over-stack protective portion is in pressure contact with sheets having the maximum stacking height capable of being fed and supported by a sheet supporting portion. Also, when the sheets are to be fed, the pressure contact of the over-stack protective portion with the sheets having the maximum stacking height is released.

  • Patent number: 7193745
Abstract: An image scanner scans and stores a document as a color image and a monochrome image when color mode is set. In accordance with specifications of a destination apparatus, an appropriate image is selected as between the stored color image and monochrome image, and the selected image is transmitted to the destination apparatus. The image scanner is thus capable of efficiently transmitting a scanned image to apparatuses having various specifications.

  • Publication number: 20070022171
Abstract: There are provided a data communication apparatus and a transmission reservation managing method that are capable of collectively managing transmissions of the same or common data by a plurality of transmission methods. A plurality of destinations for the same data input by the input means are designated. The plurality of destinations being destinations to which data are to be transmitted by respective different transmission methods the same data are transmitted to the designatd destinations by the respective different transmission methods. Information related to transmission by the data communication apparatus are managed by associating a predetermined identifier with each of the input data.

  • Publication number: 20060050303
Abstract: An image transmitting apparatus which transmits an image to a predetermined transmission destination. The apparatus includes an input unit which inputs an image to be transmitted, an authentication unit which authenticates a user by user authentication, a user information acquisition unit which obtains transmission destination information associated with the user if the authentication by the authentication unit is successful, a transmission destination designation unit which designates a transmission destination to which the image should be transmitted, a determination unit which determines, according to details of the transmission destination designated by the transmission destination designation unit, whether or not the image should be transmitted to the transmission designation associated with the user, and a transmission unit which transmits the image based on the result of determination made by the determination unit.

  • Publication number: 20040252338
Abstract: An image reading and transmitting apparatus which is capable of permitting quick checking of image data read and stored and quickly transmitting the image data after the checking. An image reader 107 reads an image, an input device 104 receives an instruction to check the data of the image read by the image reader 107, and a central processing unit (CPU) 101 generates image checking data based on the data of the image read by the image reader 107, irrespective of whether the instruction has been received or not by the input device 104.

  • Publication number: 20040230700
Abstract: When a conversion destination format is a PDF format, and a transmission mode is an FTP mode, an image format is converted to the PDF format to calculate the converted image data size (S405). When the transmission mode is an email mode, the image format is converted to the PDF format, and further converted to a MIME ENCODE format to calculate the converted image data size (S407). When the conversion destination format is a TIFF-MMR format, and the transmission mode is the FTP mode, the image format is converted to the TIFF-MMR format to calculate the converted image data size (S409). When the transmission mode is the email mode, the image format is converted to the TIFF-MMR format, and further converted to the MIME ENCODE format to calculate the converted image data size (S411). The calculated size is then displayed (S412).

  • Publication number: 20040223183
Abstract: An image communication apparatus includes a central processing unit for verifying at least a password, entered by an operator, against authentication information stored in an external storage to authenticate the operator. When the operator is authenticated, sender information corresponding to the operator is read from the external storage. When the sender information is inappropriate, the image communication apparatus prevents the operator from transmitting image data.
