  • Patent number: 8486515
Abstract: Disclosed is a coating composition for a plastic label, which contains an oxetane compound, an epoxy compound, and a cyclic acetal and/or a poly(vinyl butyral). The coating composition excels in suitability for printing such as gravure printing or flexographic printing, cures rapidly to give excellent productivity, and after curing, gives a coating layer that excels in adhesion to a plastic base film and in toughness. A plastic label formed using the coating composition excels in surface scratch resistance and crumpling resistance, and therefore is particularly useful as a label for use in plastic containers, and metal containers such as bottle cans.

  • Publication number: 20100178438
Abstract: Provided is a shrinkable label having a hologram layer that suffers no whitening even after shrink processing with relatively large shrinkage. The label therefore fits even complicated dimensions of an article and, in addition, provides a superior holographic expression. The shrinkable label includes a shrinkable film and, on or above at least one side thereof, a hologram layer. The hologram layer is formed by curing a resin composition which is cationically curable by the action of an active energy ray and which contains one or more oxetane compounds including a monofunctional oxetane compound, and one or more bifunctional or higher-functional epoxy compounds. In the resin composition, the total of the oxetane compounds and the bifunctional or higher-functional epoxy compounds occupies 60 percent by weight or more of the resin composition, and the monofunctional oxetane compound occupies 30 percent by weight or more of the oxetane compounds.

Abstract: Provided is a shrinkable label having a hologram layer that suffers no whitening even after shrink processing with relatively large shrinkage. The label therefore fits even complicated dimensions of an article and, in addition, provides a superior holographic expression. The shrinkable label includes a shrinkable film and a hologram layer present on or above at least one side of the shrinkable film. The hologram layer has been formed by curing a radically curable resin composition by the action of an active energy ray. The resin composition contains 45 to 95 percent by weight of an acrylic monomer and 5 to 55 percent by weight of a bifunctional or higher-functional urethane acrylate, based on the total amount of the acrylic monomer and the bifunctional or higher-functional urethane acrylate.

  • Publication number: 20090136759
Abstract: Disclosed is an active energy ray-curable resin the composition for plastic films which contains an oxetane compound, an epoxy compound, and at least one silicone compound selected from epoxy-modified silicones, fluorine-modified silicones, amino-modified silicones, (meth)acrylic-modified silicones, and polyether-modified silicones. The resin the composition has excellent printability such as gravure printability and flexographic printability and cures rapidly to attain high productivity. After curing, it gives a cured layer which excels in adhesion to the plastic base film and in toughness and has good recoatability. A plastic label using the resin the composition excels in surface scratch resistance and crumpling resistance. This label is hence useful especially as a label to be applied to plastic containers, metallic containers such as bottle cans.

  • Patent number: 4729964
Abstract: First conductivity type impurity ions are implanted at a predetermined depth all over a region where impurity ions are to be implanted, and second conductivity type impurity ions are implanted in a dose about twice as large as that of the first conductivity type impurity ions at substantially the same implantation depth of the first conductivity type impurity ions, followed by annealing. In this way, mutually contiguous first and second conductivity type regions having substantially the same impurity concentrations and located at substantially the same depths are formed.

  • Patent number: 4072767
Abstract: In forming a film of a purposive substance on a substrate by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD), the size of the film-forming substance particles formed in a reactor is detected as an electrical signal and flow rates of respective gases introduced into the reactor are controlled in response to this electrical signal. According to this control method, the fogging phenomenon owing to formation of the film-forming substance in the gas flow can be effectively prevented.
