Patent number: 6163921Abstract: The wiper system with translational motion is additionally capable of moving the wiper arm in angular motion at an auto stop position so that the wiper blade may be stowed away from the view of the vehicle operator when the wiper system is not in use. The retracted position may be defined immediately below the lower edge of the windshield. When a mist switch is turned on so as to effect a quick wiping action, the wiper arm can angularly move from the retracted position to the upright position. When the wiper arm is already in the translational motion, turning on of the mist switch may increase the speed of the translational motion. To prevent the wiper blade from obstructing the view of the vehicle operator in an intermittent mode, the position of the temporary stop of the wiper blade may be selected at the reversing position which is remote from the vehicle operator.Type: GrantFiled: February 24, 1999Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Mitsuba CorporationInventors: Akira Takayama, Yasuhiko Yoshida, Taizo Kikuchi, Toru Namiki, Takashi Hoshino

Patent number: 6082636Abstract: In a washer nozzle assembly, the upper lip portion defining a nozzle opening extends more forwardly than the lower lip portion so that the part of the washer liquid directed upward is blocked by the longer upper lip portion, and the upper part of the spray pattern includes more liquid droplets of larger sizes as compared to the prior art. Thus, the loss of washer liquid by being flown above the windshield at high speed can be reduced, and the spray pattern of the washer nozzle assembly can be optimized for all speeds.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1999Date of Patent: July 4, 2000Assignees: Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha, Mitsuba CorporationInventors: Yasuhiko Yoshida, Akira Takayama, Koji Iwazaki, Takatoshi Kondo

Patent number: 5737317Abstract: A communication system testing method for testing a communication unit including a communication line and components of a communication unit such as a terminal unit. In addition, a control apparatus includes pause control means and control means, both of which are incorporated in an integrated communication control circuit. When the integrated communication control circuit is in the pause state, the pause control means outputs a pause permission indicating signal and detecting signal. The control means discontinues the supply of the main-clock signal by outputting the detecting signal, thereby limiting energy consumption.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1995Date of Patent: April 7, 1998Assignee: Yamaha CorporationInventor: Akira Takayama

Patent number: 5483209Abstract: The invention provides a filter circuit for use in a double-conversion TV tuner exhibiting low diode insertion loss, in which intermodulation distortion does not occur even when an incoming signal has a large amplitude. In the filter circuit according to one preferred embodiment of the invention, there are provided three bandpass filters (BPFs) which allow corresponding RF signals in different frequency bands to pass through them, and six variable attenuation diodes whose impedance is controlled by an AGC voltage applied to an AGC terminal (16). There are also provided switching diodes (20) disposed between an input terminal (1) and the inputs of three BPFs so that the switching diodes (20) select exclusively one of three BPFs so as to apply an RF signal received at the input terminal (1) only to the selected BPF (it will be assumed hereinbelow that the BPF (21) is selected).Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1994Date of Patent: January 9, 1996Assignee: Alps Electric Co., Ltd.Inventor: Akira Takayama

Patent number: 5282208Abstract: In a digital network system, such as ISDN (Integrated Service Digital Network) system, a data link is established between transmit-side and receive-side stations so that a data transfer is performed onto a public telephone line in accordance with a predetermined protocol. The transmit-side station compresses data read from a storage medium and then transfers compressed data to the receive-side station, while the receive-side station expands the compressed data and then writes it into a storage medium. Before transferring the compressed data, the transmit-side station transmits a data transfer request to the receive-side station, so that if the receive-side station is now ready to receive the compressed data, the transmit-side station transfers the compressed data to the receive-side station.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 1991Date of Patent: January 25, 1994Assignee: Yamaha CorporationInventors: Akira Takayama, Masanori Ohashi, Hitoshi Makita

Patent number: 5166979Abstract: A data transmitting equipment transmitting data between a desired remote equipment connected via communication line, comprising password setting means, communication control means and status display means. The password set by a user is stored in the password setting means. Transmission control means compare said password with a set password in a remote equipment, allow said data transmitting of said data if both passwords are consistent, delete said set password when said transmitting ended. If the password of the password setting means is not deleted, status display means show that said password remains in the password setting means. According to the above mentioned present invention the password is automatically deleted after the end of the data transmission, and moreover the set password is never displayed during or after use. Accordingly, an exposure of the password to a third party is prevented.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 1991Date of Patent: November 24, 1992Assignee: Yamaha CorporationInventors: Akira Takayama, Tsuneyuki Koikeda

Patent number: 4823160Abstract: An apparatus for loading/unloading a drum member and a related method are described. The apparatus includes an inner support member slidably arranged between a center shaft fixed to a frame and a drum member. When the drum member is required to be unloaded from the frame, the inner support member is ejected along the center shaft for a predetermined length, and then the drum member is drawn out while using the inner support member as a guide. The method includes the steps of: providing a center shaft secured at one end to the frame; providing an inner support member slidably attached to the center shaft; providing a drum member supported at its inner surface by the inner support member and being slidable along the center shaft axis; drawing out the inner support member for a predetermined length toward the outside of the frame; and drawing out the drum member toward the outside of the frame, while using the inner support member as a guide.Type: GrantFiled: May 18, 1987Date of Patent: April 18, 1989Assignee: Fujitsu LimitedInventors: Hirotoshi Ikuta, Akira Takayama
