    Abstract: The invention provides a gate type shift lever apparatus in which a solenoid type shift lock mechanism is built at a position engaging with a shift lever (3) of a position P. This shift lock mechanism is constituted by a solenoid (12) which is turned on at a time when a brake pedal is stepped on, a slider (11) which is closely contacted with the solenoid (12) by a spring (14) at a normal time, and a shift lock plate (13) which is pivoted onto the slider (11). The shift lock plate (13) is oscillated along with a selecting operation of a shift lever (3). When a select operation of the shift lever (3) is carried out in the case that the brake pedal is stepped on and the solenoid (12) is in an on state, the slider (11) is adsorbed by the slider (12) so as to stay at a fixed position, so that only the shift lock plate (13) oscillates so as to move the shift lever (3) from the position (P).

    Abstract: In a shift lock mechanism of a column AT shift lever device, a select plate movable by operation of a select cable is pivotally connected to an end portion of a shaft that is turnable by a shift lever. A distal end of the select plate is engageable with a detent plate. A shift lock plate is provided on an outer surface of a retainer holding the shaft, in such a manner that the shift lock plate is slidable relative to the retainer. The shift lock plate cooperates with braking operation and key operation to restrict movement of the select plate, thereby performing a predetermined shift lock function.

    Abstract: In a control lever fixing mechanism, a shift lever and a shaft are inserted into through-holes of two side plates of a control lever. A lockup plate is inserted into a space defined by the two side plates of the control lever. The control lever and the shift lever are pulled upward by screwing a nut to a bolt of the control lever from the outside of the control lever. Thereby, the shift lever, the shaft and the control lever are brought into close contact with one another and fixed firmly as a unit, preventing angle deviation relative to each other.

A flat plate-like detent plate perpendicular to the rotational axis of the shaft is mounted outwardly of the retainer, and engaged with an end portion of the select plate.

    Abstract: A shift-locking apparatus for a column AT shift lever includes a shift-locking box arranged at a side of a brake pedal, a key-interlocking cable having a first end engaged with an interlocking block of a key cylinder and a second end engaged with a slider housed in the shift-locking box, and a shift-locking cable having a first end engaged with a shift-locking pin of a shift lever assembly and a second end engaged with the slider housed in the shift-locking box. Spherical members are provided at the second end of the key-interlocking cable and the second end of the shift-locking cable, respectively, and the engagements between the slider and the key-interlocking cable and the slider and the shift-locking cable are achieved by rotatably contacting the spherical members with respective spherical bearing seats provided in the slider.
