  • Patent number: 4626174
Abstract: A turbine blade of a low blade profile loss with a crossing point of an inlet angle .alpha..sub.1 an outlet angle .alpha..sub.2 being located in a position in which a distance between a crossing point of the outlet end of the blade is greater than one-half of the blade width L.sub.ax, with the inlet angle .alpha..sub.1 being in the range of 35.degree.-40.degree. and the outlet angle .alpha..sub.2 being in the range of 25.degree.-28.degree.. A ratio of a narrowest width S.sub.2 of the flow channel at the blade outlet end to a narrowest width S.sub.1 of a flow channel defined between a backside of the blade in an area of the crossing point and a front side of adjacent blade lies in the range of 0.81-0.96. A ratio of a distance L.sub.ax to a blade width L.sub.ax is in the range of 0.5-0.54, with a ratio of a distance L.sub.m from an outlet end of the blade to the blade width L.sub.ax being in a range of 0.75-0.89.

  • Patent number: 4497577
Abstract: A steam wetness measuring apparatus comprises a light source, a part defining a measuring space when the apparatus is inserted into a wet steam flow, an optical fiber bundle for transmitting the incident light beam from the light source to the measuring space, and optical fiber bundles for transmitting to a photo-electric converter element a plurality of scattered light beams of different scattering angles obtained by radiation of the incident light beam on the measuring space. The fact that the intensity of the scattered light beam changes with the wavelength of the incident light or changes with the scattering angle of the scattered light beam, in accordance with the particle size distribution of water droplets in the wet steam is used to determine the particles size distribution. The steam wetness is determined from the particles size distribution and the physical properties of the wet steam flow.

  • Patent number: 4237668
Abstract: A heat insulating structure having a heat-resistant tube disposed in a tubular cylindrical body and defining a passage for a high temperature gas, a heat insulating material disposed between the tube and the tubular cylindrical body and adapted to prevent the heat possessed by the gas from being transmitted to the tubular cylindrical body, and a spring adapted to bias the heat insulating material toward the inner surface of the tubular cylindrical body, so as to prevent the formation of a bypass passage for the gas including the gap between the tubular cylindrical body and the heat insulating material. The heat insulating material consists of a plurality of fibrous heat insulating materials mainly consisting of bulky fibrous materials and a plurality of shaped fibrous heat insulating materials. These fibrous heat insulating materials and the shaped fibrous heat insulating materials are arranged alternatingly and independently in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 4088183
Abstract: A thermal energy storage tank charged with a phase changeable thermal energy storage material produces a partial pressure variation due to the flow of a heat transfer medium, when passing through the thermal energy storage material. An attempt is made to provide the uniform phase changeable of the thermal energy storage material by passing the heat transfer medium therethrough, over the throughout of the thermal energy storage material, by providing a variety to the flow direction of the heat transfer medium. For instance, according to the achievement of uniform flow of heat transfer medium in the vertical direction, there may be attained uniform phase changeable both in an upper portion and in a lower portion of the thermal energy storage material.
