  • Patent number: 3993352
Abstract: A dump truck has a carrier that is placed on its body frame so as to be longitudinally movable thereon when longitudinal impact force exceeding a given value works on the truck's body. Energy absorbing means are interposed between said frame and carrier, for absorbing kinetic energy of said carrier by the use of hydraulic pressure produced by the relative displacement therebetween.

  • Patent number: 3981530
Abstract: A truck described herein comprises a loading table mounted on a body frame of said truck in such manner that said loading table may move in the forward direction along said body frame when an impact force larger than a predetermined value is applied to a vehicle body of said truck. An energy absorber means is interposed between said body frame and said loading table for absorbing the kinetic energy possessed by said loading table. In one aspect of the invention, the truck also comprises a stopper mounted on said body frame to limit the forward motion of said loading table along said body frame, the stopper also including separate energy absorber means for absorbing the kinetic energy of said loading table. Each of said energy absorber means consists of a member which absorbs the kinetic energy through friction, elastic deformation, plastic deformation, or through their combined effect.

  • Patent number: 3976907
Abstract: An indicator display tube in which indicator electrode units, each consisting of anode and cathode segments, lie in the same plane and in which all of the cathode segments are simultaneously energized and the anode electrodes are energized on a time sequential basis in such a manner that only the indicator electrode unit having its anode electrodes energized will glow at a particular time. The cathode segments of each indicator unit are connected in parallel which substantially reduces the number of leads to the display tube over conventional indicators which require a separate lead for energizing each of the cathode segments. The indicator display tube has means for preventing accidental discharge of adjacent indicator electrode units which would produce erroneous message displays.

  • Patent number: 3956763
Abstract: A film sensitivity setting device is provided for adjusting an automatic exposure control device of a camera in order to intentionally cause over- or under-exposure. The setting device includes a manually operable ring which is rotatable for varying the resistance value of the exposure control device as a function of its position, a locking member integrally rotatable with the manually operable ring, and a locking mechanism for locking the locking member at every position corresponding to a set film sensitivity value. A manually operable intermediate member couples the manually operable ring with the locking member so that they rotate together and disengage from the locking member, when operated, to permit the manually operable ring to move independently of the locking member for enabling an over- or under-exposure adjustment.

  • Patent number: 3955640
Abstract: A truck described herein comprises a movable loading table, energy absorber means and energy transmission means. The loading table is mounted on a body frame of the truck in such manner that it may move in the forward direction along said body frame when an impact force larger than a predetermined value is applied to a vehicle body of said truck. The energy absorber means is interposed between said body frame and said loading table for absorbing kinetic energy possessed by said loading table. The energy transmission means has its front end connected to a front bumper and is provided with an end portion located behind the cabin of the truck so as to be positioned in the path of said moving loading table. The energy transmission means is mounted on the body frame of said truck in such manner that it may move in the forward or backward direction along said frame body when an impact force larger than a predetermined value is applied thereto.

  • Patent number: 3950011
Abstract: A trailer truck comprising a trailer mounted at its front on the rear of a chassis frame of a tractor and energy absorbing system located between the chassis frame and a coupler of the trailer and adapted to allow an upward or forward movement of the coupler relative to the frame to absorb kinetic energy of the trailer upon collision.
