  • Patent number: 5228370
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a molding material includes the steps of winding a thin metal strip on the peripheral surface of a rotary shaft a plurality of turns with a resin material being interposed between the resulting layers of metal, cutting an end surface of the metal strip and the resin material which have been wound by a cutting blade while rotating said rotary shaft to obtain a mixture of metal fibers and resin fibers, and heating the fiber mixture to a temperature at which the resin fibers can be softened. In this way, a molding material in which the metal fibers are substantially uniformly dispersed in the resin material in a closely contacted state can be obtained easily. Furthermore, the contents of the metal fibers by volume in the molding material can be arbitrarily adjusted by changing the rate at which the metal strip and the resin material are wound around the rotary shaft.

Abstract: A binocular comprising a binocular body, one or a pair of objective lens-barrel unit or units, a pair of eyepiece lens-barrels and a pair of image-erecting chambers. A pair of parallel optical axes pass through the objective lens-barrel unit or units. The image-erecting chambers are arranged between the objective lens-barrel unit or units and the eyepiece lens-barrels. The image-erecting chambers have incorporated therein their respective prism units for optically connecting the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units to respective optical axes of the eyepiece lens-barrel units. Each of the image-erecting chambers is associated with the binocular body for angular movement relative thereto about a corresponding one of the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units in such a manner that the optical axes of the respective eyepiece lens-barrel units are movable angularly toward and away from each other respectively about the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units.

  • Patent number: 4930199
Abstract: A fiber is manufactured by winding a strip of thin plate material made of a metal or the like around the cylindrical outer surface of a rotatably supported main shaft a large number of times and fixing it thereto, by rotating the main shaft in the direction opposite to that in which the plate material is wound at constant speed, and by feeding a cutter having an edge line thereof expending perpendicular to the axis of the main shaft and a face angle ranging between 21 degrees and 37 degress parallel to the axis of the main shaft and at a constant speed and thereby cutting the end surface of the plate material by the cutter. In consequence, finer and soft long fiber can be manufactured effectively at a low cost.

  • Patent number: 4853549
Abstract: The invention relates to an electron beam drawing method by a matching mark detecting method for use in manufacturing of semiconductor devices. First, the surface of a semiconductor wafer is divided into a number of blocks. Each block is divided into a number of chips. Four matching marks are formed at four corners of the block. Next, the matching marks are detected by an electron beam. When the electron beam deflecting system is corrected on the basis of the position information of the detected matching marks, different correcting equations are used in correspondence to the number of matching marks detected.

  • Patent number: 4561235
Abstract: Apparatus for and a method of processing and packaging a photographic film in which the whole process starting with preparation of a long film blank in a base magazine to the loading in a cartridge is conducted without taking any intermediate rolling step wherein the film is rolled before further processing. The film is sliced and the sliced film is continuously processed by a splicer, a printer, perforating device, sizing cutter, and rolling chute conveyor. The whole process is divided into a suitable number of steps and carried out in apparatus having intermediate partitions to form independent dark rooms or dark sections covered by a light shielding cover, so that exposure of the film can be avoided even if the other sections are illuminated.
