  • Patent number: 7874069
Abstract: A gasket for preventing high-temperature fluid of an internal combustion engine from leaking is located between an adjacent pair of components of the engine. The gasket includes a gasket plate made of an electrically insulating material. The gasket plate has a hole. An annular sealing member is made of a material having a higher heat resistance than the gasket plate. The annular sealing member covers part of the gasket plate that defines the hole. Therefore, the gasket is capable of, for an extended period, preventing metal components in an internal combustion engine from directly contacting each other.

  • Patent number: 7744095
Abstract: A cylinder head gasket for sealing between a cylinder block and a cylinder head, composed of a composite base plate, the composite base plate comprising a core material plate and a compound layer formed on the front and back surfaces of the core material plate, the compound layer being formed by coating compound materials which contain a rubber and a fiber material. The cylinder head gasket is comprised of an annular groove which is formed by pressing the corresponding region around the cylinder bore of the compound layer, and a bead projecting from the surface of the compound layer which is formed by inserting the rubber material into the annular groove.

  • Publication number: 20070222164
Abstract: A gasket for preventing high-temperature fluid of an internal combustion engine from leaking is located between an adjacent pair of components of the engine. The gasket includes a gasket plate (15) made of an electrically insulating material. The gasket plate has a hole (16). An annular sealing member is made of a material having a higher heat resistance than the gasket plate. The annular sealing member (17) covers part of the gasket plate that defines the hole. Therefore, the gasket is capable of, for an extended period, preventing metal components in an internal combustion engine from directly contacting each other.

  • Publication number: 20050046118
Abstract: A gasket has seal portions at portions contacting peripheries of upper end portions of internal surfaces of cylinders, respectively. By being provided with a stopper, each of the seal portions is formed as a thick portion in the gasket. The stopper of each of the seal portions has a portion whose thickness is greater than a thickness of the stopper of each of the seal portions corresponding to cylinders at both ends of the cylinder alignment.

  • Patent number: 6186112
Abstract: In order to prevent fuel leakage from a high pressure fuel pipe at a low temperature, a sealing capacity of a seal member provided in a fuel transfer portion of a high pressure fuel pipe is estimated in accordance with various conditions and the fuel pressure within the high pressure fuel pipe is controlled on the basis of the estimated sealing capacity so as to secure a sealing property in the fuel transfer portion.
