  • Patent number: 7758753
Abstract: Provided are a method of quickly and simply confirming the success or failure of resolution of optical isomers with the use of a column for resolving optical isomers and a method of simply designing the conditions of the eluent composition under isocratic elution conditions. In resolving optical isomers, the success or failure of the resolution can be simply and quickly confirmed by employing an HPLC gradient elution analysis method with the use of a column for resolving optical isomers. When the resolution is successfully conducted, the eluent composition under isocratic elution conditions can be estimated from the elution time in the gradient elution analysis.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2007
Date of Patent: July 20, 2010
    Assignee: Daicel Chemical Industries, Ltd.
    Inventors: Atsushi Ohnishi, Akito Ichida

  • Patent number: 7081548
Abstract: A preparation process of 3-chloro-5-nitrotoluene is provided in mild conditions. It is a process for preparing 3-chloro-5-nitrotoluene, which involves the steps of reacting 2-methyl-4-nitroaniline with a chlorinating agent such as 5-butyl hypochlorite in a neutral condition to obtain 2-chloro-4-nitro-6-methylaniline and deaminating the 2-chloro-4-nitro-6-methylaniline to obtain 3-chloro-5-nitrotoluene.

  • Patent number: 5587467
Abstract: Polysaccharide derivative molecules are crosslinked exclusively among themselves on a support such as silica gel with the use of a polyfunctional crosslinking agent to immobilize the polysaccharide derivative on the support. The separating agent for optical isomers produced by the method has a high solvent resistance and, therefore, is most suitable as a separating agent for optical resolution.

  • Patent number: 4619984
Abstract: A packing for use in resolution proposed for the liquid chromatography particularly for the optical resolution of racemic compounds is prepared by reacting a silica gel carrier with a so-called silane treating agent to introduce a spacer part therein and chemically bonding it with a copper salt of a carboxylic or thiocarboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of optically active D- and L-2-acetizinecaroxylic acid, proline, hydroxyproline and allohydroxyproline. The steric bulkiness, the distance between the silica gel and the optically active group and the degree of hydrophobicity are specified so as to obtain an excellent resolving power.
