Abstract: An image forming apparatus characterized by the minimum image deterioration. The surface of a feed roller immediately after a fixing unit is covered with a mold release member to improve the mold release property of molten toner, and cooling means for forcible cooling of a web and a feed roller to improve the coagulation of molten toner, whereby high temperature offset is avoided. Further, a heat insulating member is arranged inside the mold release member of the feed roller, thereby increasing the thermal time constant, ensuring a quick cooling cycle and reducing the thermal expansion of the feed roller.

Abstract: A printer has a web handling unit that includes a web conditioning device for providing fixed control of the moisture within the web being fed, a skew correction device for adjusting the traveling position of the web which has passed through the web conditioning device, and a tension assigning device for assigning fixed tension to the web. The printer also includes an image forming device that forms an image on the web transported from the web handling unit.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus is provided in which a misregistration of an image forming-position due to a tension, acting on a continuous recording medium, and a fluctuation thereof, is corrected with a low-cost construction to provide an image of high quality. A pair of recording medium speed detection devices are provided upstream and downstream of an image forming section, respectively, and a misregistration correction amount is calculated from a detected recording medium feed speed so as to correct the image forming position.

Abstract: According to the conventional technique, a web walks across the width in paper routing, and uneven tension occurs to break the web in some cases when printing tension is applied. Further, uneven web tension is produced on the right and left by excessive functioning of walk control resulting from an excessive difference from the target position of a walk controller, with the result that the web is crumpled and broken. These problems are solved by the present invention wherein web tension is kept lower than printing tension until the web position across the width converges on the target position of a walk controller after loading of the web, thereby reducing the amount of correction by the walk controller and the amount of web lost in the preparatory phase before printing, with the result that excellent image quality free from crumple or breakdown is ensured.

Abstract: An image recording apparatus for recording a two-color image on both surfaces of a continuous recording medium includes a toner image recording portion which has a toner carrier and transfers a toner image formed on a surface of the toner carrier onto the recording medium, a tractor for feeding the recording medium on which the toner image is transferred, and a both side fixing machine for receiving the recording medium fed by the tractor to fix the toner image transferred on the recording medium. In this image recording apparatus, guide rollers come into contact with non-printing portions on both side ends of the recording medium to apply tension to the recording medium by a spring and thereby gives a predetermined slack to the recording medium to absorb a difference in speed resulted between the tractor and the both side fixing machine.

Abstract: There is provided an image recording apparatus which does not cause a print shift or a color drift caused by vibration and a widthwise shift due to speed variation in a conveying direction of a continuous sheet such as rolled paper or folded paper, in which a variation in speed is prevented by rollers which wind and clamp the sheet on and between an upper and a lower roller which are driven by the conveying force of the sheet, so as to prevent occurrence of vibration in the conveying direction, and a guide roller having pins adapted to be engaged in sprocket holes of the sheet are provided between the set-up positions of the tractors.

Abstract: A toner image heating device for heating a recording material holding a toner image includes: a first heating roller having a plurality of heaters which are different in heat generating region from one another; and a second heating roller having a plurality of heaters which are different in heat generating region from one another. A heat generating region dividing position between said heaters adjacent to each other in said second heating roller is shifted from a heat generating region dividing position between said heaters adjacent to each other in said first heating roller.
