Patent number: 9950692Abstract: In an on-board communication system, an on-board device transmits detection signals from a plurality of antennas disposed in a vehicle, and a plurality of portable devices each receive the detection signals and transmit response signals corresponding to the received detection signals. Each portable device measures an elapsed time from when the processing start signal is received, and (i) transmits a first response signal that includes information corresponding to the received detection signals, and (ii) when a specified time has elapsed from receipt of the processing start signal, transmits a second response signal including the same information as the information included in the first response signal. Position detection of the portable devices is performed based on the response signals.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2015Date of Patent: April 24, 2018Assignees: AUTONETWORKS TECHNOLOGIES, LTD., SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventors: Akiyo Watanabe, Atsushi Ogawa

Patent number: 9925955Abstract: In an on-board communication system, an on-board device transmits processing start signals and detection signals from a plurality of antennas provided in a vehicle, and a portable device receives the processing start signals and the detection signals and transmits a response signal that includes information corresponding to the received detection signals. Position detection of the portable device is performed based on the response signal. The processing start signals start reception processing of the detection signals by the portable device. The detection signals are successively transmitted from the plurality of antennas, at a different timing for each of the plurality of antennas. Various vehicle processing, such as engine start processing, may be performed based on the detected position of the portable device, such as whether the portable device is inside or outside the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2015Date of Patent: March 27, 2018Assignees: AUTONETWORKS TECHNOLOGIES, LTD., SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventor: Akiyo Watanabe

Patent number: 9919681Abstract: In an on-board communication system, an on-board device transmits detection signals from a plurality of antennas provided in a vehicle, and a plurality of portable devices transmits response signals corresponding to the received detection signals. The on-board device performs position detection of the portable devices by receiving the response signals transmitted from the portable devices. Prior to transmission of the detection signals, the antennas transmit a processing start signal. The processing start signal and the detection signals are signals received in common by the plurality of portable devices. Each portable device includes a portable reception unit that receives the detection signals, and a portable transmission unit that, when the portable reception unit has received the detection signals, transmits the response signals, which include information corresponding to the received detection signals.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2015Date of Patent: March 20, 2018Assignees: AUTONETWORKS TECHNOLOGIES, LTD., SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventors: Akiyo Watanabe, Atsushi Ogawa

Publication number: 20170298659Abstract: The present invention provides an onboard locking device and locking system capable of automatically locking a vehicle door after confirming that a portable device is outside the vehicle and at least a predetermined distance away. An onboard locking device which, when a door provided to a vehicle is in a closed state, performs wireless communication with a portable device and locks the vehicle door in accordance with a result of the wireless communication. The onboard locking device includes a distance identifier identifying a distance of the portable device relative to the vehicle using wireless communication with the portable device; a determiner determining whether the distance identified by the distance identifier is at least a predetermined distance; and a locker locking the vehicle door when the determiner determines that the predetermined distance has been met or exceeded.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2015Publication date: October 19, 2017Applicants: AUTONETWORKS TECHNOLOGIES, LTD., SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventor: Akiyo WATANABE

Patent number: 9145100Abstract: An in-vehicle ECU is provided that minimizes electric power consumption while an internal microcomputer does not need to operate. Furthermore, a power supply IC stops supplying an operation power from a power supply output unit in a pre-OFF mode, and restarts the supply of the operation power to the microcomputer when an OR gate output signal is “H”. A CPU of the microcomputer, if, at the time of the restart of the operation power after the pre-OFF mode was set, a predetermined time has elapsed since the pre-OFF mode was set, without any change in an activation factor, which is to serve as a factor for activating the microcomputer, based on whether or not there is a temporal change in external input information, outputs a power supply control signal of “H” in order to execute a power supply stop operation for stopping supplying electric power to ECUs subjected to power supply control.Type: GrantFiled: October 5, 2012Date of Patent: September 29, 2015Assignees: AUTONETWORKS TECHNOLOGIES, LTD., SUMITOMO WIRING SYSTEMS, LTD., SUMITOMO ELECTRIC INDUSTRIES, LTD.Inventor: Akiyo Watanabe
