The main body (51) has a first opening (51a) which communicates to the outer side of a housing (20), a second opening (51b) which communicates with an inner side (42a) of a filter element (40), and a third opening (56) which communicates with a first channel (51c) communicating to the first opening (51a) and the second opening (51b) and a space (B) between the filter element (40) and the housing (20). The plug (60) is held within the first channel (51c), and is movable between a first position (P1) at which fluid is not discharged from the housing (20), and a second position (P2) at which fluid is discharged from the housing (20). The plug (60) is provided with a second channel (65) that communicates with the first channel (51c) and communicates with the outer side of the housing (20) when in the second position (P2).

The head (20) is provided with an inlet (24) which is attached to a hydraulic circuit (5), and into which flows the operating oil (L1) that is to be filtered. The filter element (40) filters the operating oil (L1) that is to be filtered. The housing (30) has an opening (30b) through which the filter element (40) passes, and which holds the filter element (40) inside it. The filter element (40) is provided with an element main body (48), and an element pressing part (47). The element pressing part (47) is provided to the element main body (48). The element pressing part (47) is provided with a contact part (53) that can be shifted toward or away from the inner surface (30a) of the housing (30). A groove (35) that holds the contact part (53) is provided to the housing (30). The contact part (53) can be shifted until it comes out of the groove (35).

    Abstract: A liquid filtration device that efficiently filters a filter element and vents pressurized vapors from inside the filter element. The liquid filtration device is comprised of a vent valve apparatus that is furnished within the main body of the filter head and a plug which is located on the filter housing. The main body has a first opening that is located on the outside of the filter housing, a second opening that communicates with the inside of the filter element, an opening that communicates with the second opening and the first opening and a third opening. The third opening permits communication between the filter element and the filter housing as well as between space and the passage found within the third opening. The plug is installed within this passage, and can move between a first position that does not vent pressurized vapors that are within the housing and a second position that vents pressurized vapors that are within the housing.

    Abstract: The invention provides a filter apparatus wherein the filter element alone is replaceable and thus the case of the filter cartridge can be reused as is and not discarded. In a filter apparatus where fluid that flows in from an inlet in a head, passes through a filter element and flows out from an outlet in the head, the filter cartridge which is removably attached to the head comprises a case with a threaded ring on its outside peripheral surface that encloses a filter element and a retaining ring that retains it, and by using the threaded ring to removably fasten the retaining ring to the case, the filter element is fixed in position within the case, but by loosening the threaded ring from the retaining ring, the filter element can be removed from within the case and discarded.
