  • Patent number: 11981615
Abstract: A method for chemically reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) with a red mud catalyst composition is provided includes introducing a gaseous mixture of CO2 and H2 into a reactor containing particles of the red mud catalyst composition. The method further includes reacting at least a portion of the CO2 and H2 in the gaseous mixture in the presence of the red mud catalyst composition at a temperature of 200 to 800° C., and under a pressure ranging from 5 to 100 bar to form a gaseous product including a chemical reduction product of the CO2. A volume ratio of the CO2 to the H2 in the gaseous mixture is in a range of 1:10 to 10:1.

  • Publication number: 20240043279
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method of making a zeolite. The method includes mixing an aluminum nitrate with an aqueous solution of NaOH to form a first mixture followed by mixing silica gel with the first mixture to form a second mixture. The second mixture is heated with microwave irradiation to form a first sample. The method further includes washing, drying, and ion exchanging the first sample with ammonium nitrate to form a second sample. The method includes calcining the second sample to form the zeolite, wherein the method does not use a seed or a structural directing agent.

  • Patent number: 11819825
Abstract: A method of making an active catalyst composition includes mixing at least one support with a vanadium oxide precursor and grinding thereby at least partially embedding the vanadium oxide precursor particles in different layers and surfaces of the at least one support to form a first precursor; mixing the first precursor and a first solvent to form a first mixture; grinding the first mixture and drying at a temperature of 60 to 105° C.; calcining the first mixture after the drying at a temperature of at least 300° C. thereby allowing the vanadium oxide precursor particles embedded in different layers and surfaces of the at least one support to decompose in situ to generate vanadium oxide (VOx) particles embedded in the at least one support and form the first vanadium catalyst; and mixing the first vanadium catalyst with a second vanadium catalyst to form the active catalyst composition.

  • Patent number: 11472991
Abstract: A method for making ceramic composites via sintering a mixture of alumina and oil fly ash. The alumina is in the form of nanoparticles and/or microparticles. The oil fly ash may be treated with an acid prior to the sintering. The composite may comprise graphite carbon derived from oil fly ash dispersed in an alumina matrix. The density, mechanical performance (e.g. Vickers hardness, fracture toughness), and thermal properties (e.g. thermal expansion, thermal conductivity) of the ceramic composites prepared by the method are also specified.
