  • Patent number: 10207928
Abstract: A method of obtaining helium from a process gas. The process gas is at a pressure less than 15 bar to a first membrane separation stage having a first membrane more readily permeable for helium than for at least one other component in the process gas. A first retentate stream is fed to a second membrane separation stage having a second membrane more readily permeable for helium than for at least one other component in the process gas. Helium is separated from a first helium-containing permeate stream using a pressure swing adsorption to obtain a helium-containing product stream. A second helium-containing permeate stream is recycled to the first membrane separation stage. A purge gas from the pressure swing adsorption is also recycled to the first membrane separation stage.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2015
Date of Patent: February 19, 2019
    Assignee: LINDE AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT
Inventors: Christian Voss, Akos Tota, Martin Bauer, Frank Jennewein
  • Patent number: 10092876
Abstract: A method of cleaning a stream of matter that includes a C2+ fraction and a first gaseous substance and a second gaseous substance. The stream of matter is subjected to a pressure swing adsorption to remove the C2+ fraction by means of a membrane to obtain a retentate and a permeate. The first substance is enriched in retentate and depleted in permeate and the second substance is depleted in retentate and enriched in permeate.

Date of Patent: October 9, 2018
    Assignee: Linde Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Volker Witzleb, Werner Leitmayr, Christian Voss, Akos Tota, Martin Bauer

  • Publication number: 20150018582
Abstract: The invention concerns processes for preparing dimethyl ether from synthesis gas, comprising a synthesis step, wherein synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide is converted into dimethyl ether and carbon dioxide, and a separation step, wherein unconverted synthesis gas is separated from carbon dioxide, wherein unconverted synthesis gas is separated from carbon dioxide by a membrane.
