  • Publication number: 20180196591
Abstract: A method for moving an interface control includes displaying, via a graphical user interface of a computing display, an interface control having a first appearance at a first interface surface of the graphical user interface. Via a computing device operatively coupled to the computing display, a user input to move the interface control to a second interface surface is received. Upon receiving the user input, the interface control is displayed with a second appearance at the second interface surface. Based on displaying the interface control at the second interface surface of the graphical user interface, display of the interface control at the first interface surface is discontinued. The interface control provides a first level of functionality when displayed at the first interface surface and a second level of functionality when displayed at the second interface surface.

  • Publication number: 20170344956
Abstract: A calendar control that shows user calendar data in the context of a website. When a computing system accesses a web page from a website, there is a reference to a calendar control associated with that web page. The computing system (e.g., perhaps a browser) uses the reference to the calendar control to access the calendar control. The calendar control is then executed which causes calendar data for the user that navigated to the web site to be gathered from an external data source. Accordingly, the calendar control is shown in conjunction with the web page, but includes user calendar data that the website does not necessarily have direct access to. The calendar control may also have an interface that allows the user and/or the website to edit the user's calendar information.

  • Publication number: 20170277409
Abstract: An operating system that includes a time user interface module that presents a time user interface on a display. The time user interface allowing a change in focal date and displays external time-associated data as instructed. An application program interface communicatively couples one or more non-native programs with the time user interface module, to thereby allow the one or more non-native programs to provide time-associated data and corresponding presentation instructions to the time user interface module. This causes the time user interface to display the external time-associated data sourced from a non-native program responsive to instructions from the non-native program.

  • Patent number: 9727201
Abstract: Contextual help is provided in an unobtrusive manner. The optimum point in time for displaying a help notification is determined by triggers associated with each help notification. The triggers may take into account various factors, such as the action currently being performed by the user, whether the tip has been presented to the user before, the user's past experience with the feature, and so forth.
