Publication number: 20260095258Abstract: Methods are generally described for inaudible orthogonal signal communication. An example method includes determining, based on an input message, a series of symbols, where each symbol from the series of symbols represents a numerical value, wherein each symbol from the series of symbols corresponds to a band-limited white noise tone orthogonal to each other band-limited white noise tone corresponding to each other symbol. The example method also includes generating a sub-token comprising each symbol from the series of symbols, where each symbol overlaps in time with at least one other symbol. The example method also includes modulating a carrier wave with the sub-token to produce a signal audio waveform, where the modulation uses a spread spectrum technique, and providing the signal audio waveform to a television device, where the television emits the signal audio waveform as a low-amplitude audio signal.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2024Publication date: April 2, 2026Inventors: Syed Abdullah Nauroze, Eugene Ren, Guangji Shi, Abhay Abhay, Durgaprasad Kashinath Shamain, Akshay Mohan, Gurpal Singh Gill

Patent number: 12562834Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for presenting secondary content. Particularly, the secondary content may be presented on a first device (such as a smartphone, for example) and may be based on primary content that is being presented to the user via a second device. For example, if a product is shown during a television show being presented to the user via a television, and the user desires to view additional information about the product, the user may interact with a smartphone application. Based on the interaction, the first device may being processing audio produced by the television. Embedded within the primary content may be a number of “tones” that include frequencies that are inaudible to humans. The first device may detect a tone and the tone may be decoded to obtain a timestamp associated with the primary content. This timestamp may then be used to determine which secondary content associated with that timestamp to present to the user on the first device.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 2023Date of Patent: February 24, 2026Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Akshay Mohan, Eugene Ren, Syed Abdullah Nauroze, Abhay Abhay, Ganesha Adkasthala Ganapathi Batta, Kari Ellen McMinn, Lorin Bird, Pradnya Gajanan Chavarkar, Ioannis Katsavrias, Wayne Andrew Purboo

Patent number: 12425109Abstract: A wireless device may use two communication interfaces that utilize frequencies within the same band. As a result, a first communication interface such as an HDMI interface may interfere with operation of a second communication interface such as a WiFi interface. A conductive member is placed between the communication interfaces to reduce this interference. The conductive member has multiple slots, each slot having dimensions that cause resonance at a frequency used by the first communication interface. The number and spacing of the slots corresponds to the strength of signals used by the second communication interface. Placement of the conductive member between the first and second communication interfaces enables the conductive member to attenuate signals from the second communication interface that would interfere with the frequency used by the first communication interface.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2022Date of Patent: September 23, 2025Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Ze Sun, Hariharan Muthukrishnan, Jagan Vaidyanathan Rajagopalan, Chunyu Wu, Khaled Ahmad Obeidat, Rohit Sammeta, Nathan Labadie, Akshay Mohan

Patent number: 11358845Abstract: A device such as an autonomous mobile device may include an extensible mast or other structure that changes length during operation. A cable between electronics at the ends of the structure includes a data line for signals and a power line for electrical power. A deployed length of the cable is determined and used to determine the phase of an antinoise signal that is radiated using the power line. The antinoise signal destructively interferes with at least a portion of the radiated noise from the data line, reducing the overall amplitude of the radiated noise. The deployed length may also be used to adjust other parameters, such as equalizer settings for one or more of a transmitter or receiver that is connected to the data line.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2019Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Akshay Mohan, Jagan Vaidyanathan Rajagopalan, Yue Zheng, Deepak Pai Hosadurga

Patent number: 11211700Abstract: Technologies for dynamic noise cancelation using noise patterns are described. One device includes a moveable assembly having first and second degrees of freedom. A component within the base assembly radiates electromagnetic energy in a radiation pattern as a noise source when operating and an antenna, coupled to a receiver, is disposed on the support member. The processing device, using noise profile data about the radiation pattern of the noise source, determines that the component is operating and a current angle between the component and the antenna. The processing device determines a difference value between the current angle and the first angle and causes the moveable assembly to move at least one of the antenna or the base assembly according to the difference value.Type: GrantFiled: March 11, 2019Date of Patent: December 28, 2021Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Akshay Mohan, Yue Zheng, Deepak Pai Hosadurga, Jagan Vaidyanathan Rajagopalan

Patent number: 10249991Abstract: High-speed data connectors having a variety of different implementations to address unwanted electromagnetic radiation and interference are described. In some instances, resonant unit structures are added within the existing connector cavity that absorb and dampen unwanted electromagnetic radiation. In other instances, resonant unit structures are added to the exterior of the connector to reduce and eliminate surface currents that can occur on the solid metal shield of the connector. In these and other instances, the resonant unit structure can be formed from a stacked structure having a resonant structure arranged in close proximity to some of the connector pins to absorb unwanted radiation from those pins. The absorbed energy is transferred to ground through other components in the stack. In still other instances, various different materials are provided to replace the conventional plastic material that is used to keep the connector pins in place and in alignment.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2017Date of Patent: April 2, 2019Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Akshay Mohan, Jagan Vaidyanathan Rajagopalan, Deepak Pai Hosadurga
