  • Patent number: 11663552
Abstract: An approach is provided for improving a workflow by using cognitive computing. Inputs about a claim of a claimant are received. The inputs include a history of claims by the claimant, an expected cost of processing the claim, a length of time the claimant has had insurance coverage, governmental requirements associated with the claim, a fraud score associated with the claim, and a ranking and a clustering of previously processed claims. Based on the inputs and using a cognitive computing system, a set of digital workers is selected. The set of digital workers complete step(s) in a current context of a processing of the claim in a workflow. Responsive to completing the step(s), a total number of steps required in the workflow is reduced.

Inventors: Mark Carter, John McEvoy, Sean Callanan, Ava Hakim, Chris Lynam, Al A. Hamid, Thomas Harty, William O'Mahony
  • Patent number: 11647983
Abstract: An ultrasound probe is guided to an optimal position on a patient's body by illuminating the patient's body with a laser, by displaying icons of the probe position and the optimal position on a 3-D model of the patient's body, or by playing an audio signal that varies according to distance of the probe position from the optimal position. In certain embodiments, the probe is guided to a series of optimal positions for conducting a vascular exam, responsive to a database of human anatomy and vasculature and responsive to a database of vascular exam procedures.

  • Patent number: 8448129
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium for utilizing the design centers, assembly line and job shops of a global delivery network across multiple software factories are presented. A work packet is examined to determine if it is authorized to be sub-contracted out to a different design center, assembly line or job shop than the design center/assembly line/job shop that have primary responsibility for the work packet. If the work packet is authorized to be sub-contracted out, then the work packet is reassigned to a different pre-qualified design center/assembly line/job shop.
