  • Patent number: 9662674
Abstract: A fountain system and method of providing same is provided. This involves a plurality of communication nodes, each communication node being configured to operate when submerged in a liquid; and a plurality of fountain components for providing a plurality of fountain jets of liquid, each fountain component being linked to a communication node in the plurality of communication nodes and being operable to provide a fountain jet of liquid in the plurality of fountain jets of liquid. The plurality of communication nodes are operable to receive a plurality of fountain control signals transmitted through the liquid. The plurality of communication nodes are operable to control the plurality of fountain jets by communicating to each communication node in the plurality of communication nodes an associated fountain control signal for controlling the fountain component linked to that communication node. The plurality of fountain control signals are transmitted at a frequency in the range of 100 MHz to 1.2 GH.

  • Patent number: 9164018
Abstract: Embodiments of a method used for determination of inhibition durability index (IDI) of an inhibitive mud system can include multiple stages, with each stage including specific steps. The first stage can include a dispersion test that evaluates the inhibition effects of a stability inhibitor after exposing the test material to the inhibitor. The second stage can include a durability inhibition assessment, which includes assessing the longevity of the effect of the inhibitor. A third stage can be used to graph or otherwise evaluate the results of the second stage or the first and second stages.

  • Publication number: 20140370800
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved method of distributing fresh air into a building. The method comprises the steps of providing the fresh air; subjecting the fresh air to pre-cooling; channeling the pre-cooled fresh air into an air conditioning unit; and transferring the fresh air into the building's rooms. The fresh air displaces air within the rooms, which is exhausted out of the building without being channeled back to the cycle. The present invention aims to distribute fresh air into the building using an open air cycle to improve the indoor air quality (IAQ) at less energy consumption.

  • Publication number: 20140174168
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for determining an ablation modulus of a mudcake on a wellbore wall. According to various embodiments of the invention, the method includes preparing a mudcake, forming a mudcake assemblage comprising the prepared mudcake, screen, and a filter paper, and submerging and securing the mudcake assemblage in a container filled with a fluid. The fluid includes one of a native fluid and a foreign fluid to the mudcake. The method further includes agitating the fluid for a plurality of time intervals, removing the mudcake assemblage from the container after expiration of each time interval, and drying the mudcake assemblage. Further, the method includes weighing the mudcake assemblage to determine an interval weight for each time interval, and determining the ablation modulus of the mudcake on the wellbore wall by graphically correlating the determined interval weights of the remaining mudcake in the mudcake assemblage as a function of time.

  • Patent number: 8758898
Abstract: A multilayer interlayer polymer film and a high clarity safety glass laminate made using the same include: (1) a core layer comprising one of an ionomer polymer material and a thermoplastic polyurethane polymer material; (2) at least one intermediate layer laminated to the core layer and comprising the other of the ionomer polymer material and the thermoplastic polyurethane polymer material; and (3) at least one skin layer laminated to the at least one intermediate layer and comprising a non-ionomer polyolefin polymer material. The multilayer interlayer polymer film provides the high clarity safety glass laminate with enhanced performance with respect to optical properties and manufacturability. In an alternative embodiment the at least one skin layer may be omitted when the intermediate layer comprises a thermoplastic polyurethane material with adequate adhesion to glass.

  • Patent number: 4507925
Abstract: A process has been invented to inject and withdraw water from an aquifer for purposes of energy storage under some abnormal conditions. This transfer system is for thermal energy storage applications where the transfer water pressure is higher than the normal aquifer pressure at the point of withdrawal or injection. Applications include systems where water temperatures are in excess of the normal boiling point and the water must be pressurized, to prevent boiling and/or and where an aquifer has a water head well below ground level creating excess pressure from the column of water from the surface to the acquifer. Water is injected through a process which reduces the pressure at the aquifer to the pressure required for injecting the correct water flow rate. In recovering the thermal energy, or withdrawal, the system provides the proper pressurization at aquifer level to the required pressure.
