Publication number: 20240016314Abstract: A refrigerated merchandiser includes a case, a first case section defining a first product display area and a first air passageway having a first airflow inlet, a first airflow outlet, and a second airflow outlet, and a second case section having a glass panel through which a second product display area is visible. Moreover, the refrigerated merchandiser includes a fan positioned in the first air passageway to generate an airflow that is separated into a first airflow portion and a second airflow portion at or upstream of an evaporator. The first airflow portion is configured to flow through the evaporator and through the first airflow outlet. The second airflow portion is configured to bypass the evaporator via a bypass channel and flow through the second airflow outlet. The second airflow outlet is oriented to direct the second airflow portion over an exterior of the glass panel.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2023Publication date: January 18, 2024Inventors: Moisses Navarro, Anand Ganesh Rajagopalan, Sandeep Palaksha, Al Arrosagaray, Alex J. Publication number: 20210378421Abstract: A refrigerated merchandiser including a case having a first case section. The first and second case sections define first and second product display areas. The first case section further defines an air passageway and the second case section includes a glass panel. The air passageway supports a fan and is in fluid communication with a first airflow inlet and a second airflow outlet. An airflow flows through the first airflow outlet toward the evaporator and a second airflow outlet in communication with the first airflow inlet via an evaporator bypass channel. A first airflow portion flows through the first airflow outlet and is cooled by the evaporator, and a second airflow portion flows through the second airflow outlet to bypass the evaporator and is uncooled by the evaporator. The second airflow outlet directs the second airflow portion over an exterior of the glass panel of the second case section.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2021Publication date: December 9, 2021Inventors: Moisses Navarro, Anand Ganesh Rajagopalan, Sandeep Palaksha, Al Arrosagaray, Alex J. Patent number: 11096504Abstract: A refrigerated merchandiser is provided including a case having a first case section. The first case section defines a first product display area and an air passageway. The air passageway supports a fan and is in fluid communication with an airflow inlet and an airflow outlet. The air passageway is at least partially defined by a refrigeration system including an evaporator. A portion of the air passageway is further defined by a plenum having a stepped profile configured to channel and adjust a direction of an airflow within the first air passageway prior to entering the evaporator. The refrigerated merchandiser may further include a second case section defining a second product display area and including a glass panel. A first airflow portion of an airflow is configured to flow through the airflow inlet toward the evaporator and a second airflow portion is configured to flow through a second airflow outlet via an evaporator bypass channel.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2017Date of Patent: August 24, 2021Assignee: Hussmann CorporationInventors: Moisses Navarro, Anand Ganesh Rajagopalan, Sandeep Palaksha, Al Arrosagaray, Alex J. Patent number: 10323873Abstract: An island merchandiser including a first merchandiser module, a second merchandiser module, and a single, unitary base. The first merchandiser module includes a first case defining a first product display area that is maintained within a predetermined temperature range below approximately 41 degrees Fahrenheit. The second merchandiser module is positioned next to the first merchandiser module, and includes a second case defining a second product display area The second merchandiser module is positioned so that a rear wall of the second case is in communication with a rear wall of the first case so that the first and second merchandiser modules are positioned in a back-to-back relationship. The unitary base is positioned to at least partially support each of the first and second merchandiser modules relative to a support surface. The module defined by the second merchandiser module is different from the module defined by the first merchandiser module.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2013Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignee: Hussmann CorporationInventors: Moisses Navarro, Diego Wood, Raymond P. Patent number: 9528771Abstract: A heat exchanger including a non-linear coil. The coil has coil sections that define a sinuous refrigerant path, and the coil has an inlet that is located on an outer periphery of the coil and an outlet that is located inward of the outer periphery. A distance between the coil sections monotonically increases from the outer periphery toward the center.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Hussmann CorporationInventors: Timothy Mandelcorn, Anand G.
