  • Patent number: 11898439
Abstract: A double-layered wellbore tubular assembly includes a first wellbore tubular configured to be lowered into and installed within a wellbore. The first wellbore tubular has an inner diameter and defines a first hollow volume. The assembly includes a second wellbore tubular configured to be lowered into and installed within the first hollow volume of the first wellbore tubular. The second wellbore tubular has an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the first wellbore tubular. The second wellbore tubular installed within the first hollow volume defines a tubing-to-tubing annulus (TTA) between an outer wall of the second wellbore tubular and an inner wall of the first wellbore tubular.

  • Publication number: 20230383604
Abstract: A wellbore assembly to plug and abandon a wellbore below a setting depth includes a whipstock assembly configured to drill a lateral wellbore from a primary wellbore formed in a subterranean zone. The wellbore assembly includes a tool assembly connected to the whipstock assembly. The tool assembly is configured to be lowered into the primary wellbore during the same trip as the whipstock assembly. The tool assembly is configured to perform wellbore operations downhole of a casing window from which the whipstock assembly is configured to drill the lateral wellbore before the whipstock assembly drills the lateral wellbore.

  • Patent number: 11663552
Abstract: An approach is provided for improving a workflow by using cognitive computing. Inputs about a claim of a claimant are received. The inputs include a history of claims by the claimant, an expected cost of processing the claim, a length of time the claimant has had insurance coverage, governmental requirements associated with the claim, a fraud score associated with the claim, and a ranking and a clustering of previously processed claims. Based on the inputs and using a cognitive computing system, a set of digital workers is selected. The set of digital workers complete step(s) in a current context of a processing of the claim in a workflow. Responsive to completing the step(s), a total number of steps required in the workflow is reduced.

  • Patent number: 11647983
Abstract: An ultrasound probe is guided to an optimal position on a patient's body by illuminating the patient's body with a laser, by displaying icons of the probe position and the optimal position on a 3-D model of the patient's body, or by playing an audio signal that varies according to distance of the probe position from the optimal position. In certain embodiments, the probe is guided to a series of optimal positions for conducting a vascular exam, responsive to a database of human anatomy and vasculature and responsive to a database of vascular exam procedures.

  • Patent number: 11474375
Abstract: The invention is directed to eyeglass frames that are mounted and maintained on a user's temple area, providing added comfort and stability. The frames include a pair of rims for enclosing a pair of lenses. The rims are connected to each other via a bridge that can also include a nosepiece for resting the frames on the bridge of the user's nose. The rims further connect to a pair of arms that extend on either side of the user's head with temple pads comfortably retaining the frames on the user. In some embodiments, the frames can further include earpieces that extend behind the user's ears. Advantageously, the disclosed frames can securely and comfortably be worn by the user.

  • Patent number: 11365603
Abstract: Downhole flow control valves include a valve assembly, driven gear, drive gear, and motor. The valve assembly includes an outer sleeve and inner sleeve. The outer sleeve has openings and a fixed guide. The inner sleeve is disposed within the outer sleeve and includes an outer surface and an axially abutting surface defining a stair-stepped pathway. The fixed guide abuts against the axially abutting surface. The abutment of the fixed guide against the axially abutting surface of the inner sleeve causes the inner sleeve to translate axially between an open position and a closed position relative to the outer sleeve when rotated through operation of the motor, drive gear and driven gear. Systems for controlling fluid flow from lateral branches of a multilateral wellbore include at least a plurality of the downhole flow control valves and a downhole electrical power source for generating electrical power to operate the motor.

  • Patent number: 8448129
Abstract: A method, system, and computer-readable medium for utilizing the design centers, assembly line and job shops of a global delivery network across multiple software factories are presented. A work packet is examined to determine if it is authorized to be sub-contracted out to a different design center, assembly line or job shop than the design center/assembly line/job shop that have primary responsibility for the work packet. If the work packet is authorized to be sub-contracted out, then the work packet is reassigned to a different pre-qualified design center/assembly line/job shop.

  • Publication number: 20050080696
Abstract: A method and system for generating a business case for one or more alternative server infrastructure scenarios relative to a baseline server infrastructure scenario. A capacity planner determines resource requirements and performance metrics for the server infrastructure scenarios. A total cost of ownership estimator determines from the resource requirements the investment cost for the alternative server infrastructure scenarios and the incremental savings in operating costs for the alternative server infrastructure scenarios relative to the baseline scenario. A business value estimator determines from the performance metrics the incremental business value to a supported business operation of the alternative server infrastructure scenarios relative to the baseline server infrastructure scenario.
