    Abstract: A high performance shaped charge for piercing high strength steel has a symmetry of revolution about an axis; a priming system constituted by a punctiform initiating source for producing a detonation wave in a block of donor explosive, and a cavity positioned between the donor explosive and a receiver explosive, the cavity being shaped in such a way that the detonation wave from the receiver explosive which enters a charging explosive is planar and perpendicular to the axis of the charge.
