  • Patent number: 8430332
Abstract: According to the invention, the thermostatic valve (10) includes, on the one hand, a mobile sleeve (30) for adjusting the flow of fluid through the valve body (20), said sleeve comprising a tubular body (31) provided with peripheral sealing fittings (32, 33, 34) adapted for interaction by sealed contact with the fixed seats (25A, 26A, 27A) in order to stop the fluid flows between the openings (21, 22, 23) defined by the valve body and, on the other hand, a thermostatic member (40) including a fixed portion (42) rigidly connected to the valve body and a fixed portion (41) movable in translation in the direction of the axis (X-X) of the sleeve under the action of a volume variation of a thermo-expansible material, the sleeve being kinematically connected to the mobile portion so that the movement of the mobile portion relative to the fixed portion controls the movement of the sleeve relative to the seats.

  • Patent number: 7520446
Abstract: A thermostatic valve mounted within a housing which defines a fluid circuit and wherein an internal valve seat is defined withing the housing, the thermostatic valve including a blocking valve component movable relative to the valve seat for opening and closing the fluid circuit, a thermostatic element for actuating the blocking valve and including a body and a piston that are relative movable with respect to one another and a base to which the piston is mounted, an electrical heating element mounted within the and piston of the thermostatic element for heating expansible material contained in the element, wherein one end of the piston is seated and sealed within a blind hole in the base and the base is seated and sealed within a blind cavity in the housing and which cavity has a bottom wall formed integrally with the housing through with electrical pins extend toward the outside of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20060130778
Abstract: The housing of this valve delimits a chamber inside the housing, the chamber including a first fluid inlet at a first temperature, a second fluid inlet at a second temperature, and a first fluid outlet and a second fluid outlet through which fluid can freely communicate with the first and second inlets respectively. Thermostat-controlled means for controlling fluid circulation through the valve are provided, so that fluid can freely pass through the chamber between the first inlet and the second outlet and between the second inlet and the first outlet, only when either the value of the first temperature is less than a first predetermined threshold value, or the value of the second temperature is greater than a second predetermined threshold value strictly greater than the first threshold value. Application to a circuit for cooling an internal combustion engine and a system recirculating exhaust gases from this engine.

  • Publication number: 20060113399
Abstract: The valve includes an external housing, a blocking means, a thermostatic element for actuating the blocking means, and means, within the piston of the element, for electrical heating of the expansible material contained in the element. The electrical connection between the outside of the housing and the heating means is provided by contact pins, accessible from the outside, and by connecting conductors, carried by a base. In order to facilitate the manufacture of the valve and to guarantee a tight seal in the area of power supply to the heating piston, the base is adapted to be fitted and immobilised in a complementary blind cavity delimited internally by the housing, a housing wall traversed by the pins, with a sealing gasket being interposed, delimiting on one side the cavity, and on the other side a connection base for connection of an element for supplying electric power to the pins, which is formed integrally with the housing.

  • Patent number: 7036745
Abstract: A thermostatic valve comprises a casing which delimits openings for circulation of a fluid, a mobile sleeve for regulating passage of the fluid between the openings, a fixed seat for receiving the sleeve and a thermostatic member which has a mobile piston. The sleeve is mounted on the piston in such a manner to control, at least in part, displacements of the sleeve relative to the seat. The valve also comprises a controlled member for driving a body of the thermostatic member in accordance with a direction of displacement of the piston.

  • Patent number: 6698720
Abstract: In a valve member adapted to co-operate with an annular seat and comprising a plate with an annular channel for receiving a gasket which is crimped by folding in an outer wall of the channel, any risk of the gasket being ruptured is minimized by the outer surface of the gasket presenting, in the absence of any stress being exerted thereon, a first region extending frustoconically towards the central axis of the valve member, which first region is extended by a second region extending frustoconically away from the central axis, and by the outer wall of the channel being folded progressively towards the first region so as to fit snugly against the shape thereof without penetrating into the material of the gasket, without exerting any stress thereon, and without compressing it. The valve member is suitable for use in particular in thermostat valves.
