  • Patent number: 9976340
Abstract: The invention described relates to the manufacturing of solid wood doors and consists in the insertion of steel reinforcing bars in the frames of the door to increase its rigidity. By increasing the rigidity of the door, the effect of possible warping in the door is diminished. In addition to this, alloying the steel, which possesses an elasticity modulus that is around ten times superior to that of wood, we achieve significantly higher rigidity for the piece of solid wood and this, by adding very little steel. The arrangement and the geometry of the reinforcing bars permit the conservation of traditional manufacturing techniques.

  • Patent number: 9863181
Abstract: The invention relates to the manufacturing of solid wood doors and consists in increasing the insulating value of a door by inserting an insulating material between the internal and external panels and in the center of the structural parts of the door. In this way, a door with a minimum of non-insulated surfaces is achieved. By using this system, the insulating value of the assembled door is significantly increased and reach the requirements of high energy efficiency programs such as ENERGY STARâ„¢. In addition to this, the rigidity and the durability of the solid wood door are not significantly compromised. A door with a traditional style and high thermal resistance levels is achieved.

  • Patent number: 6749162
Abstract: A bracket assembly in which two brackets are attached laterally adjacent one another on a support. A first bracket is adapted to be attached to a support having a face that has a first width. A first leg of the first bracket has a first removable portion and a first non-removable portion. The first leg has a second width that is larger than one half of the first width. A second bracket is adapted to be attached to the support laterally adjacent the first bracket. A second leg of the second bracket has a second removable portion and a second non-removable portion and also has a third width that is larger than one half of the first width.

  • Patent number: 5810303
Abstract: The stud bracket is used for mounting an electrical wiring box on a stud, particularly a metal stud. The bracket is made of a single sheet of a hand-deformable material. It comprises two initially flat leg portions which are initially provided in an L-shaped configuration. The first leg portion features a lateral strip used to either grip an edge of a metal stud or serve as a positioning guide. The second leg portion comprises an outer section surrounding an elongated inner strip that is delimited by a continuous cut leaving only an end of the inner strip, opposite the first leg portion, integral with the outer section. The bracket is very versatile and allows the electrical wiring box to be connected without tools to various positions on a wide variety of studs.

  • Patent number: 5590858
Abstract: A support for mounting an electrical device box into an opening made in a panel. This support has an elongated bar-shaped member longer than the device box and two L-shaped members coplanar to and projecting from one side of the bar-shaped member. The distance between each one of the opposite ends of the bar-shaped member and the remote point of this bar-shaped member from which the remote L-shaped member projects is substantially equal to the height of the electrical box. In use, one can easily insert the bar-shaped member behind the panel through the opening made in the panel by first introducing one of the opposite ends of the bar-shaped member into the opening and moving this one end until the adjacent L-shaped member contacts the panel. Then, the support can be rotated so that the other opposite end of the bar-shaped member passes through the opening, such being possible because of the above mentioned distance selection.

  • Patent number: 5579939
Abstract: The electrical device box comprises four side walls and a rear wall, each side wall being connected to an adjacent side wall and to the rear wall for defining a generally rectangular housing having a front opening delimited by an edge. The box comprises a set of first tabs outwardly projecting from one of the side walls which is to be set against a side of an adjacent supporting structure. The first tabs are spaced apart and at an equal distance from the edge of the front opening for providing alignment of the box with a front surface of the supporting structure. The box also comprises a set of second tabs outwardly projecting from the same side wall. The second tabs are spaced-apart and at an equal distance from the edge of the front opening but farther from it than the first tabs.

  • Patent number: 5579938
Abstract: A clamp for use to fix nonmetallic sheathed or armored cables within an electrical device box. This clamp has an L-shaped body with a forwardly projecting front wall and an upwardly projecting rear wall. The front wall has a central hole and a rectilinear front edge of a given length that is parallel to the rear wall. An integral U-shaped element projects from the front edge of the L-shaped body along the full length of it. Two upwardly embossed portions are made in the front wall. These portions are symmetrical with respect to the central hole and each has a semi-cylindrical cross-section with an axis perpendicular to the rear wall. Each embossed portion ends at a short distance from the rear wall and defines therewith a locking ridge. Two front openings are made in the front wall at the junction of the embossed portions with the front edge of the body.
