  • Patent number: 4742598
Abstract: Device for balancing a lid of a suspended plan filing cabinet, comprising a stay (4) fixed at one end (40) on a pivot pin (5) fastened to the lid (1), the other end (41) being free, said stay being pulled towards the top of the cabinet by a spring (6) compensating the weight of the lid. The stay is guided by a roller (7) free to turn on a pin (8) fastened to the frame (2). This stay has a notch (9) which is entered by the roller (7) in order to hold the lid open, and a notch (10) holding the lid closed. Means of adjusting the tension of the spring (6) make it possible to fix a safety position (.alpha.) before the complete closure of the lid.

  • Patent number: 4732433
Abstract: Device consisting of a safety bar (2) preventing the simultaneous opening of a plurality of drawers (A, B, C), said bar being free to slide between a bottom stop (D) and a top stop (E) in a slide guide (G) fixed against a side wall (100) of the cabinet (1), parallel to a vertical edge (101) bordering the face on which the drawers open. This bar carries pivots provided with rotating rollers (1A, 1B, 1B', 1C) judiciously distributed over its face directed towards the drawers, and cooperates with rails (120, 20, 30) fixed on a side face of each drawer, parallel to and near its bottom.

  • Patent number: 4728162
Abstract: The invention relates to filing cabinets for suspended plans. The means for the compensated guidance and graduated opening of the door (2) comprise at least one guide arm (3) carrying, at its free end, at least one roller (30, 31) sliding in a slide track (4) fastened to the frame (1) of the cabinet. Each arm is supported, at the entrance of the slide track, by at least one roller (15) pivoting on a journal (15') fastened to the frame. The guide arm is equipped with a movable stop (6) having a spring stud (7) and pivoting on a journal (5) and with a fixed stop (9). A plate (10) fastened to the frame retains the guide arm in the slide track; this plate has means for the graduated opening of the door which comprises an ejector (12) pivoting on a journal (11), a stop (13) and a reactivating finger (14).

  • Patent number: 4605189
Abstract: Permanent locking mechanism can be released temporarily by depressing a pedal when adjusting the height and orientation of the drawing board. The movable assembly comprising the table supporting pillar is connected to the balancing system by a cable attached at one end to a spring passing around a return pulley having its axle supported by a strap of which the corresponding notch is directed towards the base of the frame structure, then around another return pulley formed with a helical groove and secured to the top of the frame structure, the other end of the cable being attached to the pillar. A locking member interconnects the axle and the pedal, this connection being discontinued in case of undesired slackening or breakage of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4557450
Abstract: A device for locking a drawing board of a drawing table in a selected position; the drawing board consisting essentially of a working board secured to a movable cylindrical column adapted to slide vertically in a frame structure bearing on the floor, the weight of the assembly being compensated by a balancing device disposed between the frame structure and the board, the locking device proper comprising a pair of coplanar brake shoes encompassing the column and rigidly mounted to the frame structure; the brake shoe movements being controlled by a pedal disposed externally of the frame structure. A plate supporting two pivoted arms each connected to one brake shoes, on the hand, and to the plate, on the other hand, keeps the brake applied against the column by means of a pair of traction springs tensioned on either side of the shoes between a bearing point located on the frame structure and a traction point located on the plate.

  • Patent number: 4486956
Abstract: This control device consists of a slider disposed within the portion of the hollow head which rotates with the rules; this slide is provided with a guide T-shaped and member is pivotally interconnected to a thumb-piece accessible from outside the head. The pivotal connection between the slider and the thumb-piece is constantly maintained through a coil compression spring prestressed between the inner wall of the head and a stud rigid with the slider opposite the pivotal connection. The thumb-piece comprises on its bottom a projection engageable in a cavity formed in the head base. The relative positions of the pivotal connecting means and the projection are so calculated that the spring generates a self-locking torque preventing any uncontrolled released of the mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4360180
Abstract: A drawing board is mounted on a support column slidably guided by a vertical pedestal structure and is supported by a cable passing over a pulley which is urged upwardly by a gas cylinder to counterbalance the weight of the drawing board. Opposed brake shoes mounted by toggle linkage on an inner support member are biased into engagement with inner surfaces of the support column by springs acting on sliding pivots of the toggle linkage. The normally engaged brakes are releasable by a foot pedal connected by a rod with a sliding yoke on which the sliding pivots are mounted. The rod is connected with the yoke by engaging in a notch in an edge of the yoke. In the event of breakage of the cable or failure of the counterbalancing cylinder, a safety device is actuated to disconnect the rod from the sliding yoke and thereby permit spring actuation of the brakes to prevent the drawing board from falling.

  • Patent number: 4359824
Abstract: On the head of a conventional drawing apparatus, locking means consist of a toothed circular plate 1 integral with the support C, a toothed circular plate 2 integral with the turning handle and rule carrier, the plates 1,2 being concentric and rotating in a same plane, and a third toothed plate 3, forced towards the plates 1 and 2 by springs 4 so as to mesh with the plates 1 and 2 making them integral with each other. This plate 3 is movable axially along a hub E, while maintained perpendicular to the axis of said hub; it may be disengaged from the plates 1 and 2 by exerting a pressure on a pusher 5 which actuates a lever 6 which lifts a small plate 7 connected to the plate 3 by columns 8.
