  • Publication number: 20210347513
Abstract: The objective of this invention is to provide a handle for carrying an article or a bundle of bottles that is more resistant to tearing and delaminating and can carry heavy loads. This is accomplished by placing a strip on the inside of the wrapping material so that the strip that forms the handle is enclosed within the wrapping material. The strip film maintains direct contact with the wrapping film. Direct contact is achieved by electrostatic bonding of the handle film on the wrapping film. Therefor more than 80% of the handle seals to the wrapping film.

  • Patent number: 10549871
Abstract: This invention is to register printed film on product while wrapping the printed film from a single roll. This is achieved by using a sensor that can read a mark on the film in order to insure that a predetermined length of film is pulled off the roll and the printed portion of the film is in registration with the product. The marks on the film establish the amount of film needed to wrap the product. A sensor such as a photo sensor reads the mark and determines whether the proper length of the film has been pulled off the roll. When the amount of film pulled of the roll does not coincided with sensor reading, the distance between where the product stops and the sealing bar is varied. This allows the length of the film to be adjusted until the sensor readings and the length of the film coincides.

  • Publication number: 20190031382
Abstract: Holes in the film can be formed after film wrapping the bundle. Slits are formed in the heat shrink film prior to film wrapping the bundle. While the bundle moves through a heat shrink tunnel on a conveyor, the slits can be opened by increasing the shrinkage of the film surrounding the slit. This can be accomplished by directing high speed jets of hot air on the slits. Although slits are preferred the hot air can be used on any opening to increase the size of the opening.

  • Patent number: 10071827
Abstract: The invention is directed to solving the problem of wrapping a bundle with cardboard without using glue to hold the cardboard flaps in place before wrapping the bundle with a heat shrink film. The problem is solved by using a mechanical fly bars to restrain the flaps of an insert while moving a bundle on a conveyor. The insert can be any material that provides structural protection to the bundle during stacking.

  • Patent number: 9776807
Abstract: The objective of the invention is to arrange the articles on the conveyor so that the bundle can be easily stacked on top of each other. This problem can occur when the articles have caps on one side of the bundle causing a sloped surface that hinders stacking the bundles. The problem can be solved by arranging the articles so that the caps are always on the outside of the bundle.

  • Publication number: 20170259947
Abstract: This invention is directed to designing a machine and a box so that one apparatus can be used for inserting the bundle from the top and the side by using two pieces of cardboard. One piece of the Cardboard is formed into U Channel for loading a bundle into the U Channel from the side or top.

  • Publication number: 20170158368
Abstract: This invention solves the problem in the prior art when a bundle of containers lack sufficient strength to support at least three or more bundles to be stacked on a pallet having at least four bundles high. The invention solves the problem by increasing the stacking strength of a bundle of containers by using crisscrossed cardboard risers.

  • Patent number: 9533781
Abstract: This invention is directed to multiple sealing bars to seal articles moving on a conveyor (2) inside a sleeve (4) that forms a continuous film tube (5). Retracting conveyors act to collapse the tube between the articles so that the collapsed portion of the tube can be sealed. The synchronization of the sealing bars with the movement of retracting conveyors allows for a continuous motion machine where the products inside the film do not stop.

  • Publication number: 20160332764
Abstract: In a lap seal machine there is a need to provide a predetermined length of film for wrapping a product. This is accomplished by cutting a predetermined length of film while wrapping an article with the film. The wrapping is done by a fly bar that stops after a predetermined length is pulled. The stopped film is then cut by a knife.

  • Patent number: 9216832
Abstract: This invention is to replace the need for a corrugated carton by wrapping an article with a heat shrinkable bubble wrap film. Heat shrinking the bubble wrap will allow the bubble wrap to shrink sufficiently to conform to an article such as a group of containers, e.g. bottles. Because of the inability of the bubble wrap film to tightly shrink around the containers, the containers can move and bump each other. To ensure stability, the bubble wrapped article is film wrapped with a heat shrink film and heat shrunk to provide an article that does not require a corrugated box for to ensure the integrity of the containers.

  • Patent number: 9003747
Abstract: The objective of the invention is to provide an alternative way of wrapping a product with cardboard at faster speed and maintain stacking strength. This accomplished by bending two strips of cardboard into the shape of a U channel where the sides of the U form an angle smaller than 90 degrees with the center part of the U form. The sides of the U channel cardboard will be open by a guide that will allow each U channel cardboard piece to slide around each end of the product without requiring glue to hold the U Channel in position. By maintaining an angle of less than 90 degrees the U channel cardboard acts like a spring clamp around the product and maintains its position on the conveyor belt while the product is film wrapped and the film is heat shrunk.

  • Patent number: 8806841
Abstract: The invention is to accumulate the bottles in a nested formation at a high speed on a moving conveyor and the reduction or elimination of gaps between the nested bottles that are caused by missing bottles. The is done by oscillating the conveyor belt Another objective of the invention is to accumulate a predetermined number of bottles in rows to be bundled by establishing a first barrier to retain the bottles on the conveyor and using second barrier to control the number of rows to be included in the bundle.
