  • Publication number: 20090119995
Abstract: An entry control apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a pair of spaced barriers forming a pathway therebetween. The barriers are positioned adjacent a doorway to control ingress into and egress from a building or the like. An arm is pivotally mounted and extends across the pathway and permits free movement of people in one direction and selectively restricts movement in the other direction. A motion sensor is provided and a motion control system is associated with the sensor. The sensor and motion control system cooperate to selectively allow the arms to move to a normally open position for normal traffic in an approved direction. In the event a person approaches the apparatus, as if to exit, or move in the wrong direction through the pathway, the sensor detects the movement and effects operation of the motion control system that locks the arm against movement to prevent movement through the passageway.

  • Publication number: 20040216381
Abstract: An operating mechanism of a casement window includes a handle for rotating a worm shaft, which in turn rotates an inner gear, an annular gear and a crank arm to open a window. The crank arm is mounted on spaced apart pins on a flange or extension of the outer gear, so that the arm can be reversed on the pins to change the direction of window opening.

  • Patent number: 6375382
Abstract: A compact, streamlined crank assembly for use on the splined shaft of a casement window operating mechanism includes a tubular body with an ovoid socket in the bottom thereof for mounting the body on any one of the shafts of various window operating mechanisms. A handle pivotally mounted on one corner of the body is stored in a trough on the top end of the body, or the handle includes a trough complementary to the square cross section top end of the body.

  • Patent number: 4808140
Abstract: A toy building block includes a rectangular parallelpipedic body with a pair of dovetail-shaped slots extending transversely across the center of four adjacent sides thereof, and a lug extending outwardly from the center of the slots on two of the sides, the portion of the lug projecting outwardly beyond the plane of the side of the block also having a dovetail cross section for sliding engagement with the slots, and the central portion of each lug being bifurcated, the sides of the central portion flexing inwardly to permit insertion of the lug into a slot and bearing against the sides of the slot to releasably lock the lug in the slot.
