  • Patent number: 6273269
Abstract: A centrifugal type pneumatic separator having a rotor and a housing. The rotor has a plurality of vanes distributed around a periphery thereof. The housing contains the rotor. The housing has an air input conduit, a material input conduit and an evacuation conduit. The air input conduit passes air through channels formed between adjacent vanes such that air and material flows toward the evacuation conduit. The rotor is divided so as to define at least two separate passages whereby air from the air input conduit flows toward the evacuation conduit as two separate and parallel streams.

  • Patent number: 6193177
Abstract: A grinding apparatus for forward feeding material in a drum in which the grinding apparatus has a circular grinding track therein. The drum is driven in rotation at a speed such that material therein is held on the circular grinding track by centrifugal force. A knife is positioned in an upper descending portion of the drum for detaching material from the circular grinding track. A deflecting plate is disposed beneath the knife so as to receive materials detached by the knife and to divert the detached materials toward the output of the drum. The knife is disposed such that the knife has an active face forming an angle of between +15° and −50° with a radial plane extending between a horizontal axis of the drum and an edge of the active face.

  • Patent number: 6179233
Abstract: A grinder for use in wet grinding having a roller or wheel rolling on a circular track and elastically pressed thereon. The materials to be ground are subjected to several layer on bed grinding operations to enable the rational utilization of this type of grinder. During the time between two successive grinding operations in the grinder, water or another liquid is introduced by nozzles to the materials. The materials are drained and/or dried by a screen so as to reduce water content to below 20% in volume.

  • Patent number: 6138933
Abstract: A grinder having an annular track with a horizontal axis (14), a roller (16) capable of travelling over the track, a mechanism for pressing the roller against the track and means (18) for displacing the material from one edge of the track to the other in such a way that it passes several times beneath the roller before being evacuated. To enhance the efficiency of the grinder and the distribution of mechanical stresses in the roller and the track, the track (14) and the roller (16) are designed in such a way that the gap between them decreases from the edge of the track (14) located on the side for supplying the material to be ground to a distance from this edge at least equal to 80% of the width of the track, and in that this interval then swiftly increases to form a decompression area (19) on the ground material evacuation side.

  • Patent number: 5996915
Abstract: A vibrating cone crusher which crushes material between a cone and a frustoconical ring located therearound. An annular frame supports the ring and a device for generating circular vibrations in a horizontal plane. Tie rods connect the frame to a cone holder. Vertical vibration that disrupts crusher operation is reduced or neutralized by positioning the center of gravity of the cone, the cone holder, the frame, and items supported thereon adjacent the plane of vibratory forces.

  • Patent number: 5575428
Abstract: A grinding mill comprises a support structure, a frame movable with respect to the support structure, a bottomless bowl supported on the frame, vibrators for imparting circular and approximately horizontal vibrations to the bowl, and a cone fitted inside the bowl and mounted on the support structure for free rotation around an axis of the cone. The speed of rotation of the cone around the axis is measured, the bowl and the cone defining a gap therebetween for receiving a layer of a material to be ground upon rotation of the cone, and for the ground material to be discharged in a discharge plane. A minimum thickness of the layer of ground material in the discharge plane is determined on the basis of a measured value of the cone rotation, and the frequency and/or amplitude of the bowl vibrations is adjusted so as to maintain the minimum thickness of the layer at a set value.

  • Patent number: 5457641
Abstract: A method for determining a line of sight from a visor borne by a helmet fitted with a pick-up with three magnetic orthogonal coils, in relation to a mark affixed to an aircraft concretized by an emitter with three magnetic orthogonal coils, consists of initially setting up a magnetic cartography of the piloting cabin: to this end sets of measurements of fields picked up by the pick-up from fields emitted in succession by the three coils of the emitter, for different known positions and orientations of the pick-up inside the cabin, are established then entered in memory. Then the method consists of setting up, based on those measurements, a magnetic modeling of the piloting cabin. In flight, the measurement matrix, associated with a cycle of emission from the emitter, triggered when the pilot validates a line of sight in a given direction in relation to his helmet, makes it possible by using the preliminary modeling to compute accurately the orientation of that line of sight inside the mark of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 5205494
Abstract: The purpose of the invention is a process and a machine for the fine grinding of materials such as cement clinker. To improve the energy efficiency of the operation, by performing a systematic grinding, without resorting to excessively high pressures or excessively substantial recycling rates, there is used a mill composed of a rotating path and a roller capable of rolling on the path, exerting on the material by means of the roller an average pressure between 10 and 40 MPa and, on each turn of the path, the material is moved transversely on the latter over a distance which is a fraction of the width of the path.

  • Patent number: 5120431
Abstract: A pneumatic centrifugal separator comprises guide vanes disposed along the generatrices of a fictitious cylinder having a vertical axis, the guide vanes being adapted to impart to a gas stream entering the fictitious cylinder a rotary motion about the vertical cylinder axis, and a rotor coaxially positioned in the interior of the fictitious cylinder, the rotor being equipped with a first set of vertical blades distributed uniformly along the periphery of the fictitious cylinder and a second set of blades disposed between the blades of the first set and the cylinder axis. A gas stream and particulate material to be sorted is introduced between the guide vanes and the rotor, and the gas stream charged with particles of dimensions smaller than predetermined dimensions and sorted out of the particulate material is drawn out of a central outlet. The second set of blades is arranged to guide the streams of gas coming through channels between adjacent vertical blades of the first set to the central outlet.

  • Patent number: 5054701
Abstract: An apparatus for milling particulate mineral material comprises two cylinders rotatable in opposite directions about parallel axes defining a plane while being yieldingly pressed towards each other, the cylinders defining therebetween a milling compression space having an inlet for the particulate material above the plane and an outlet for the milled material below the plane. To reduce the formation of agglomerates and prevent circumferential and/or lateral flushing of the material, the outlet space is closed by respective lateral flanges at the opposite cylinder end faces and a barrier including a scraping bar extending across the outlet space below the plane into contact with the flanges and having one edge in contact with the peripheral surface of one of the cylinders while an opposite edge defines a milled material output of reduced cross sectional area with the peripheral surface of the other cylinder.
