The assembly comprises a housing comprising a first surface comprising a socket disposed therein; wherein the socket is configured to accept a plurality of miniplugs, illustratively in a 2×2 configuration, wherein pairs of socket contacts are exposed along at least one side wall of the socket and wherein the socket contacts are configured to be aligned with the conductor contacts such that each of the conductor contacts is in contact with a respective one of the socket contacts. A caddy is also provided which allows the miniplugs to be arranged in a 2×2 arrangement for subsequent insertion into a socket or the like.

Abstract: There is provided a device and method for coded securing of a modular plug in a modular receptacle, in particular an RJ-45 plug in a RJ-45 receptacle, the receptacle comprising a front face defining an aperture and the plug comprising a plug body having dimensions substantially the same as those of the aperture and an elongate latch flexibly attached at a first end towards a front end of the plug body and comprising a release lever at a second end thereof and at least one latch tab positioned between the first end and the second end, the second end of the latch biased normally away from the plug body such that when the front end of the plug is inserted into the aperture into an engaged position the at least one latch tab engages an inside of the front face and is retained therein until the plug is released from the engaged position by depressing the release lever.

Abstract: A protective cover for securing networking equipment installed on a rack, the networking equipment comprising a front face including at least one cable plug receiving socket and at least one cable terminated by one of the sockets is provided. The cover comprises an elongate covering portion dimensioned to conceal the front face and defining a cable receiving region, the covering portion comprising at least one side opening at an end thereof and a means for mounting the covering portion to the front face. At least one cable exits the cable receiving region via the side opening.
