  • Patent number: 8731744
Abstract: The guiding mode transition aiding device includes a target heading determining device and a mode transition triggering system. The target heading determining device is configured to determine a target heading which represents the heading value reached by the aircraft at the end of a procedure of folding the wings of the aircraft flat from a current operating state. The mode transition triggering system receives the target heading and compares the target heading to a desired heading to be reached by the airplane to assist with triggering a transition between a rolling angle holding mode, in which the aircraft flies with a constant rolling angle, to a heading holding mode, in which the aircraft flies with a constant heading. This device and associated methods may be used during in flight refueling operations.

  • Patent number: 8613185
Abstract: Disclosed is a ventilating air intake arrangement of an aircraft. The arrangement includes at least one air duct connected to an air intake orifice. At least one confined zone connects with the air duct and the air intake orifice, and the confined zone is configured in a manner in which outside air enters through the air intake orifice. A controllable mobile element modifies the flow of air entering the confined zone by varying a cross section of the air duct. A control unit is used to control the controllable mobile element, with the control unit being arranged so as to control the controllable mobile element to vary the cross section of the at least one air duct as a function of speed and altitude of the aircraft.

  • Patent number: 8086362
Abstract: Method and device for assisting the piloting of an aircraft. The device (1) comprises means (4) for determining, using a roll instruction and measured current values of external characteristics and of flight characteristics of the aircraft, a predicted path which is a flight path having a constant roll angel, taking account of the effect of the wind.

  • Patent number: 6481885
Abstract: A hydrodynamic stirring device which dissolves, mixes or puts back into suspension or into a “sol” in a primary liquid phase, a deposited sediment which is contained in a tank and covered by the primary liquid phase. The stirring device includes a suction device, including at least one pumps to remove liquid from the primary liquid phase in the tank, and an injector connected to a discharge side of the suction device. The injector is equipped for reinjecting the liquid into the tank, towards the deposited sediment, in the form of at least one jet having a predefined pressure and flow rate. The injector further includes at least one tube which bears at an end portion thereof, a self-rotating lance. The lance a hollow cylindrical stator which is open at both of its end portions. At a first of its end portions to the injector tube. At a second of its end portions, the stator is connected to a nozzle bearing rotor which is rotatably mounted on the stator.
