  • Patent number: 10844301
Abstract: A method for producing a synthesis gas from an organic material with a moisture content of less than 20%. A first step for carrying out the thermolysis of the organic material and a second, separate step for the gasification (ii) of the thermolysed organic material. The thermolysis step is carried out by increasing the temperature of the raw material up to an end temperature higher than 150° C. and lower than 1400° C.; —the thermolysis step (i) is carried out in a controlled gas atmosphere in which the quantity of oxygen supplied is less than 20% of the quantity of oxygen required for the stoichiometric combustion of the organic raw material; —the thermolysis gas obtained in the thermolysis step is conveyed to a purification step (iii) for removing undesirable elements.

  • Patent number: 10550328
Abstract: A thermolysis device for supplying heat energy at a temperature of between 80° C. and 700° C. and capable of adjusting the temperature inside a chamber including a raw material supply inlet, a thermolysis gas outlet, and an outlet for the solid or liquid materials from the thermolysis reaction. The chamber encloses at least one plate, separating the chamber into a top portion and a bottom portion, and at least one transfer element. The transfer element and/or the plate is mounted so as to rotate about an axis, the raw material supply inlet is placed above the plate, thus defining a first point for a raw material to drop onto the plate.

  • Patent number: 7678244
Abstract: The purpose of this invention is a leak limiter (20) of an electrolytic cell (1) for the production of aluminum, fitted with confinement means comprising passage openings for the insertion of anode stems (3), characterized in that it comprises at least one support (21), capable of surrounding all or part of an anode stem, and at least one flexible sealing body (30, 30a, 30b, 30c) arranged around all or part of the periphery (23) of the support (21) and designed to close off all or some of the free space between the inside edge of an opening and an anode stem (3). This invention improves the leak tightness of covering means used in electrolytic cells.

  • Publication number: 20060137972
Abstract: The invention relates to jacks used for the displacement of anode frames of electrolytic cells designed for the production of aluminium. According to the invention, the jack (100, 100?) comprises a sleeve (120) provided with an opening (121), an actuation rod (140) comprising an axial cavity (141) and a thread (142) and capable of moving in the said opening, a drive screw (130) inserted in the said axial cavity and capable of cooperating with the said thread so as to displace the said rod (140) in the sleeve (120) and in the said opening (121), a toothed drive wheel (150) coupled to the drive screw (130), and a worm screw that can be connected to the shaft of a drive motor (200) and that can cooperate with the drive wheel (150) so as to rotate it, and is characterised in that the centre-to-centre distance E between the axis R of the drive wheel and the axis V of the worm screw is between 100 and 350 mm, and in that the reduction ratio RR between the worm screw and the drive wheel is between 300:1 and 80:1.

  • Patent number: 6679384
Abstract: Process for the filtration of paper pulp with a device that comprises a rotor and a stator; one of the two, filter (1), has perforations of slot or hole types, and the other, the backwashing element, includes means that are intended to generate pressure pulses that consist in combatting the gradual clogging of the perforations of the filter and the gradual flocculation of the pulp during the creep of the pulp between the rotor and the stator by creating deflocculation zones and/or increasing the relative speed between the pulp and the backwashing elements.

  • Patent number: RE38738
Abstract: Cylindrical screen, particularly for paper pulp, of the type comprising at least one filtering element (10) positioned between two flanges (1, 2) by means of a number of bars (3). The filtering element is composed by wires (10) placed side by side and held by rings (11). This filtering element is rigid in the axial direction and is placed upstream from the above mentioned bars (3), in relation to the direction of flow of the pulp. The filtering element is held against the bars (3) through the rings (11) that are in contact with the bars without being attached to them, so as to maintain its shape by withstanding the pressure exerted by the pulp.
