  • Publication number: 20050247203
Abstract: A description is given of a gas separation device for a physiological fluid, comprising a containing body (6) having at least a first inlet aperture (7) for a physiological fluid, positioned with a tangential direction of access, at least one outlet aperture (9) for the said fluid, spaced apart from the said inlet aperture, and a guide element (17) housed within the said body. The guide element (17) has a continuous active surface (15) designed to contact and guide the said fluid and delimits, together with the containing body (6), a first annular chamber (20) into which the first inlet aperture (7) opens directly.

  • Publication number: 20050205476
Abstract: Device for extracorporeal treatment of blood 1 intended to operate in a mode with a single needle 2, comprising: a treatment unit 3 having a first compartment 4 and a second compartment 5, which are separated by a semipermeable membrane 6, an extracorporeal blood circuit comprising a single needle 2, an intake line 7 in fluid communication with the first compartment 4 of the treatment unit 3, the first compartment 4, and a return line 8 in fluid communication with the first compartment 4 of the treatment unit 3, a purge line 9 at the outlet of the second compartment 5, a closure means (10, 11) acting on at least the intake line 7 and the return line 8 in order to generate the alternate sequence of blood intake and return, at least a first chamber 12 which is in fluid communication with the extracorporeal blood circuit and defines a first additional blood volume, the first chamber 12 having a variable total content; the first chamber 4 being rigid and including at least one wall capable of being moved,

  • Patent number: 6629946
Abstract: An integrated CRRT method and apparatus incorporates steps and means for compensating for heat loss from blood in an extracorporeal circuit. A blood warmer is designed to engage and hold a disposable blood tube segment to transfer heat at a closely controlled temperature to blood flowing in the disposable blood tube segment. Another significant aspect of the present invention is a blood tube segment for engagement with the blood warmer is located in downstream of a dialyzer and upstream of a venous pressure monitor, an air bubble detector and a venous line clamp. The disposable blood tube segment may be selectively connected when heat loss compensation is required and left disconnected when heat loss compensation is not required.

  • Patent number: 6579494
Abstract: A device for preparing a sterile liquid includes structure for validating a sterilization treatment applied to the liquid. The validating structure includes structure for calculating, from at least one operating parameter of the device, a parameter representing a sterilizing value for the sterilization treatment, and structure for comparing the calculated parameter to a threshold value corresponding to the sterility of the liquid.

  • Patent number: 5722399
Abstract: A liquid treatment apparatus includes a sensor which is sensitive to a variation in gas pressure and which generates signals indicative of sensed pressures. The apparatus also included a casing divided into a first compartment and a second compartment by a flexible membrane, the first compartment having at least one orifice for the introduction of the liquid, and the second compartment being connectable in a leaktight manner to the pressure sensor. A pump is provided to vary a quantity of gas in the second compartment, and a controller is provided to regulate the pump as a function of variations in pressure generated in the second compartment. The controller is configured to receive signals from the sensor and to cause, through the pump, at least two successive pressure variations, having opposite directions, in the second compartment so as to adjust said position of the membrane between a wall of the casing bounding the first compartment and a wall of the casing bounding the second compartment.
