  • Publication number: 20140038754
Abstract: The invention relates to a tennis racket including a frame, delimiting a surface strung with cords and forming a screen, and a sleeve extending the frame outside the screen, characterized in that the frame consists of, at least within a peripheral region, a curved laminate comprising at least two layers of different materials adhered together, the laminate being shaped such that, in a closed cross-section of said peripheral region considered to be perpendicular to the neutral fiber of the frame, the center of mass of said cross-section is offset, relative to the surface center of gravity of said cross-section, toward the screen with a value at least equal to 5% of the width of said cross-section, said width being defined by the intersection of the cross-section and the plane of the screen.

  • Patent number: 6004891
Abstract: The composite fabric comprises a load-carrying grid disposed between cloth and a flexible layer that are held to each other, the load-carrying grid which is at least two-directional being made up at least of warp thread and weft thread which are held to one another, the mesh defined by the grid having openings of area greater than the area of the gaps defined by the texture of the decorative cloth, the decorative cloth being held directly to the flexible sheet through the mesh of the load-carrying grid such that the fabric prevents outer ribs due to the thickness of the weft threads.

  • Patent number: 5306005
Abstract: A generally oval tennis racket characterized in that its strung surface comprises five zones: a central zone (A) including the geometric center (M) and the center of percussion (P) and having at least three cross strings; and on either side thereof two zones (B and C) each having at least three cross strings whose average length exceeds that of the cross string in the central zone (A). This construction increases the area (sweet spot) over which resilience is substantially uniform.
