  • Patent number: 6225581
Abstract: An installation comprises at least one electrical switchgear apparatus a movable mechanism which is interlocked with a device such as an access door by a kinematic transmission cable comprising a flexible sheath and a core designed to slide in the sheath. The ends of the sheath and of the core are respectively fixed to a fixed part of the apparatus and to the movable mechanism by fixing apparatus comprising an end-piece operating in conjunction with the corresponding part of the cable, a housing designed to receive the end-piece, and a locking device with dead point passage designed to oppose insertion of the end-piece in the housing when the force exerted on the locking device in an insertion direction remains lower than an insertion threshold and to enable insertion of the end-piece in the housing when the force exerted on the device means in an insertion direction is greater than the insertion threshold.

  • Patent number: 6184483
Abstract: An extractable circuit breaker is equipped with an operating lever which can take at least three positions: an inoperative position, an opening control position in which operating lever operates in conjunction with an opening latch of the circuit breaker, and a closing control position in which it operates in conjunction with a closing latch of the circuit breaker. When the circuit breaker is in the plugged-in position, the operating lever is inoperative. When the circuit breaker leaves its plugged-in position, the operating lever operates in conjunction with a countergear lever supported by the fixed frame accommodating the circuit breaker and performs opening of the poles of the circuit breaker. When the circuit breaker passes beyond its plugged-out position in the extraction direction, the operating lever moves from its inoperative position to its opening control position and then to its closing control position, causing opening followed by closing of the poles.

  • Patent number: 6160228
Abstract: The locking device of a plug-in and disconnection mechanism for a circuit breaker comprising a kinematic transmission system driven by a removable crank comprises a main locking catch able to take a closed position in which it prevents the crank from being fitted and an open position in which it enables the crank to be fitted, at least one operating cam and lever mechanism designed to take information representative of one or more positions of the circuit breaker and to prevent passage of the mobile element of the main locking catch to its closed position when none of these positions is detected, and an operating mode selector. In the embodiment with one cam and lever mechanism, the selector enables the cam and lever mechanism to be activated or neutralized. In the embodiment with two cam and lever mechanisms, the selector enables one or the other of the two cam and lever mechanism to be selected.

  • Patent number: 4743715
Abstract: The invention relates to a draw-in mechanism for an extractible molded insulated case circuit breaker, equipped with main and auxiliary circuits with fixed and movable connectors. The fixed connectors are arranged on the upper horizontal wall of the case, and the interacting movable connectors plug into the fixed connectors when the circuit breaker is immobile. The reversible mechanism movement transmission system comprises a first mechanical link with the movable connectors drive device, and a second mechanical link with the movable circuit breaker support, the assembly being arranged so that the first mechanical link is active when the second mechanical link is broken, and vice-versa. The racking mechanism comprises an operating device with a handle, and a movable mechanical support having a pair of symmetrical rails sliding in slide plates of the chassis, and a rail locking system in the drawn-in and drawn-out positions.

  • Patent number: 4686334
Abstract: The invention relates to a frame for housing a withdrawable circuit breaker. The rear wall of the frame comprises an insulating support, through which fixed connection terminals pass, each comprising an internal part on which a draw-in grip is mounted. The end of the terminal is fitted with a single latching edge cooperating with a notch of conjugated shaped, arranged in the draw-in grip, onto which it clips.

  • Patent number: 4468645
Abstract: The present invention relates to a disconnectable connection between a trip unit and circuit breaker. The disconnectable connections between the removable trip unit and the circuit breaker unit include inclined connection lugs so as to provide access to the set-screws of the connections on the narrow side face of the circuit breaker casing.

  • Patent number: 4276527
Abstract: A molded case multi-pole circuit breaker comprises an interchangeable trip unit having a magnetic circuit surrounding a main stationary conductor and provided with a U-shaped core secured to circuit-breaker assembly and a magnetic rod fastener to the trip unit. The rod is inserted between the legs of the core, and a single turn secondary winding surrounds the rod. A bimetal is attached to the winding, and the thermal tripping characteristics are independent of the relative position of the magnetic core and rod.
