  • Patent number: 9567839
Abstract: A method is provided for fracturing a geological hydrocarbon reservoir, including the static fracturing of the reservoir by hydraulic pressure, and the electrical fracturing of the reservoir by generating an electric arc in a well drilled into the reservoir. This enables the improved fracturing of the reservoir.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 2012
Date of Patent: February 14, 2017
Assignees: TOTAL S.A., UNIVERSITE DE PAU ET DES PAYS DE L'ADOUR
Inventors: Franck Rey-Bethbeder, Antoine Jacques, Justin Martin, Antoine Sylvestre de Ferron, Thierry Reess, Alain Gibert, Olivier Maurel, Christian LaBorderie, Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot
  • Patent number: 9394775
Abstract: A device is provided for fracturing a geological hydrocarbon reservoir including two packers defining between them a confined space in a well drilled in the reservoir; a pump for increasing the pressure of a fluid in the confined space; an apparatus for heating the fluid; at least one pair of two electrodes arranged in the confined space; and an electric circuit for generating an electric arc between the two electrodes, the circuit including at least one voltage source connected to the electrodes and an inductance between the voltage source and one of the two electrodes. The device permits improved fracturing of the reservoir.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 13, 2012
Date of Patent: July 19, 2016
    Assignee: TOTAL S.A.

  • Patent number: 6371265
Abstract: An electrical power supply unit powers a load, in particular a transformer (8), from a power source (10) via electrical switchgear (14), in particular a circuit-breaker, and it includes an interference attenuator (16) of the ferrite type for attenuating interference due to switching. The attenuator (16) is placed between the power source (10) and the electrical switchgear (14), thereby contributing to reducing the extent of the interference significantly.

  • Patent number: 4106084
Abstract: In a current-density controlled source of high-voltage current fed from a low-voltage current source and supplying a high-voltage direct current to two output terminals, an error voltage resulting from the comparison of a constant reference voltage and the voltage appearing at the terminals of a resistor through which flows a current proportional to the current to be controlled acts on the amplitude of an alternative current signal produced by an oscillator, the amplitude variations of the signal produced by said oscillator causing the amplitude high voltage current supplied to said output terminals to vary.

  • Patent number: 4041768
Abstract: The present invention is related to a device for measuring the mass of particles of an aerosol per volume unit. It comprises a solid measuring body, measuring means for measuring the resonance frequency of said solid measuring body, means for generating a flow of air loaded with particles and for directing said air flow toward a planar receiving electrode and means for electrically loading said particles with a polarity opposed to that of the planar receiving electrode.
