  • Publication number: 20150044480
Abstract: A method for producing a polyurethane-impregnated paper laminate comprising the steps of impregnating paper with a mixture of a polyurethane-based liquid material and a catalyst, maintaining the paper into the mixture for a predetermined duration for polymerization thereof and coating the impregnated paper with a sheet of solid polyurethane-based material and a finishing top coat.

  • Patent number: 6370933
Abstract: A die for reducing the formation of flash on parts includes a first die section and a second die section defining therein a cavity. The first die section includes a pair of first surfaces and the second die section includes a pair of second surfaces which together define a pair of parting lines which extend from opposite sides of the cavity. Desirably, the first die section includes a pair of lands, each extending along the length of one of the parting lines. Each land defines a first surface portion of the first surface and is sized and configured so that the land is elastically loaded, e.g., substantially equal to and less than the elastic limit of the material forming land when forming a part.

  • Patent number: 5656808
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the use of an X-ray image amplifier tube comprising a succession of electrodes, among them a photocathode. This X-ray image intensifier tube may have, alternately, an off state and an operating state. The method consists of the application, to the photocathode, of an operating voltage that is a substantially zero voltage when the X-ray image intensifier tube is in an operating state and a positive turning-off voltage greater than the operating voltage so that the X-ray image intensifier tube is in the off state. Application is notably to X-ray image intensifier tubes used in sets that work alternately.

  • Patent number: 5116000
Abstract: A system for storing liquid under pressure is adapted to contain any of various quantities of liquid determined in advance with approximately the same filling ratio in an environment in which the temperature varies. It comprises a main storage tank adapted to contain at least the largest of these quantities of liquid in such a way as to leave a residual volume of pressurized gas and a reserve gas storage capacity mechanically independent of the main storage tank and in permanent communication with the residual volume of pressurized gas via a liquid non-return device. The reserve capacity is chosen so that the quantity of liquid actually introduced into the system divided by the sum of the volumes of the main storage tank and reserve capacity is at least approximately equal to the filling ratio.

  • Patent number: 5081620
Abstract: The method embodying the invention authorizes communication bit rate reservations in a packet switching network. According to the method, a new communication is only accepted by the network if the communication does not exceed a maximum bit rate flowable by the switches of the network. A packet switch in the network comprises a bit rate reservation device for memorizing bit rate informations that are representative of total bit rates flowed by the switch and for processing said information as a function of data carried by service packets. The bit rate reservation device mainly comprises registers respectively associated with multiplex ways of the switch for memorizing the bit rate informations, an adder for incrementing and decrementing the bit rate informations as a function of service packet data, and a comparator for detecting overstepping of the maximum flowable bit rate.

  • Patent number: 4395581
Abstract: The present invention relates to a concave mirror composed of a plurality of planar facets. According to the invention, all the facets are identical and the two dimensions of said facets are such that the square root of their product is at least approximately equal to the ratio of the focal distance of the mirror and of the square root of the rate of concentration of the mirror. The invention finds application in the concentration of solar energy in solar generators.

  • Patent number: 4392007
Abstract: The invention relates to a support for at least one photovoltaic cell, comprising at least one block made of heat-conducting material with which said cell is in close thermal contact. According to the invention, this support comprises at least one tube the wall of which may be traversed by the heat, said tube being fastened to said block, in thermal contact therewith, and closed at its end to define a closed cavity inside which an evaporable and condensable fluid is enclosed. The invention is particularly applicable to a solar generator.
