  • Publication number: 20100000901
Abstract: A packaging component, having a wall including a layer for direct contact with a product contained within the packaging, said layer formed of an organic polymer having disposed therein 1) a first material reactive with at least one component of the product contained within the packaging or with a physical or chemical contaminant thereof, and 2) a second component in the form of particles which perturb or emit, naturally or under the influence of an artificial source of excitation, a physical field which is remotely detectable and which confirms that the first material is also present. The reactive substance is typically a substance having a biocidal effect, an organoleptic additive, an oxygen-absorbing agent, an emitter of carbon dioxide or sulfur dioxide, a humidity absorber, an antioxidant or a UV filter, and the physically active particles are typically ferromagnetic, x-ray absorbent, an MRI contrast agent, luminescent or thermochromic.

  • Publication number: 20040206774
Abstract: A metal tube for storing and distributing liquids, the tubes typically being manufactured of an aluminum alloy, comprising a cylindrical or truncated skirt having one end and another end linked to a dispensing head, the inner surface of the cylindrical skirt being covered, proximate to the open end, with an adhesive annular seal; and wherein the adhesive seal comprises an oxygen absorbing agent that is released when the tube is finally sealed; and wherein the oxygen absorbing agent is directly incorporated in the resin used for producing the seal to ensure that the oxygen absorbing agent is released only when the tube is finally sealed.

  • Publication number: 20030118760
Abstract: A flexible tube designed to store and dispense liquid-to-pasty products containing fragrances, aromas or [substances] sensitive to oxidation, whose wall bears over its entire surface a coating comprising a layer of thickness comprised between 150 and 1500 Å of a material or a mixture of materials belonging to the following group: hydrogenated or non-hydrogenated, nitrogenated or non-nitrogenated amorphous carbon, oxides, nitrides or carbides or their mixture or their combination with one or more of the following metals (Si, Mg, Al, Ti, Zr, Nb, Ta, Mo, W, V). Preferably, this is an internal coating. The coating is created by means of a plasma, preferably under atmospheric pressure, by decomposition of a gaseous compound and condensation on the substrate or even by means of a plasma ribbon. The coating can be mixed or gradual: for example, carbon with polymeric tendency in the sublayer and silica on the surface.

  • Publication number: 20030008089
Abstract: The present invention relates to squeezable containers for flowable products having improved barrier and/or mechanical properties and methods for making said sqeezable containers. These improvements are achieved by incorporating into the squeezable container a polymeric nanocomposite comprising a polymer and nanosize particles of a modified clay.

  • Publication number: 20020182319
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for depositing a coating on the wall of a metal container. According to said method, the coating is deposited using a plasma at a pressure close to atmospheric pressure. The metallic container can be an aerosol dispenser can and the resulting coating advantageously replaces the internal layer of varnish usually deposited in containers of this type.

  • Patent number: 5556678
Abstract: The invention relates to a tube head equipped with an internal lining having a barrier effect, the internal lining consists of a multi-layered polymeric element fixed by an external surface layer of the element to a plastics annular covering of the head, the element also has one or more polymeric layers having a barrier effect and a total thickness of between 0.008 and 0.05 mm and an internal surface layer of polyolefin or of polyester. The invention also relates to such thermoformed monobloc becoming the internal lining element. The invention is suitable for the production of numerous tubes.

  • Patent number: 5221576
Abstract: The invention relates to a strip or portion of a strip for deep drawing or drawing and ironing comprising a metallic layer carrying on one surface a surface coating of plastics material and on its other surface a coat of varnish characterized in that: the metallic layer is of aluminum alloy with each surface having a coating of anodic or chemical conversion oxide 20 to 80 nm thick; and the coat of varnish contains a solid lubricant consisting of particles which are harder than the varnish and less hard than the shaping tool or tools, which particles are of an average diameter greater than the thickness of the said coat after firing. The invention also has an object the use of this strip to produce various hollow bodies or containers, particularly with a height:diameter ratio in excess of 2.5 and for producing aerosol or pump distributors.

  • Patent number: 4809887
Abstract: A distributor for pasty products comprises a body having a tubular body (4) with a cylindrical barrel (5), a piston (7) with a flexible flared-out top lip (8) sliding in the barrel (5) and a top carrying an orifice through which the pasty product can pass, and also having a distribution head fixed on the tip. Pasty product is directed and expelled by a suction and compression effect. According to the invention, in order to allow air to be evacuated when the piston is being inserted into the tubular body (4), this body (4) comprises a transverse inner relief (35) having a minimal inside diameter which is 0.5 to 1.5 mm less than the inside diameter of the barrel (5) and, preceding it, a flared-out inlet zone (36) having an engagement diameter at least equal to the outside diameter of the flexible lip (8), the outside diameter of the middle part (40) of the piston (7) being at least 0.4 mm smaller than the minimal inside diameter of the relief (35).
